"Gossip Girl" is just one week away from its season finale. But before we get there, a number of issues still need to be resolved.
Here's what we learned on Monday's (May 7) episode...
[Spoiler Alert]
Chuck and his dad: When Chuck (Ed Westwick) learns that his father isn't really dead after all, he enlists the help of Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) to help protect him. While it starts off working as planned, things get hairy when Lola (Ella Rae Peck) gets in the way. Things get even harrier when the ever-scheming Blair (Leighton Meester) comes up with a plan that puts Lola and Ivy (Kaylee DeFer) in harms way. Fortunately, everything works out well...that is except for one person.
Dan and Blair: Dan (Penn Badgley) is starting to act especially needy as it relates to Blair. Concerned that she might get back together with Chuck, Dan invites Blair to spend the »

Tonight on Gossip Girl: Chuck Learns the Truth (Sneak Peek)
Gossip Girl ended last week with a pretty huge reveal that was pure soap opera; a character believed to be dead was anything but and tonight's episode deals with the aftermath of this huge news. Yep that's right Bart Bass (Robert John Burke) is very much alive and didn't die in the car crash way back in season 2 as we were led to believe. Chuck (Ed Westwick) is obviously the character who is most affected by this bombshell; will he turn to Blair for help again?
Tonight we will find out why Bart faked his death and hasn't been in contact with his son. As you can see from the producer's preview below the car crash was real but it was no accident and there was a real threat to Bart's life. It will be hard for Chuck to »

Gossip Girl Preview: Blair Helps Chuck After The Big Bombshell
The big scheme to find out the truth about Chuck's (Ed Westwick) father on Gossip Girl revealed a familiar face behind a door that Chuck believed to be impossible and is likely to have devastating results. Though Chuck and Blair (Leighton Meester) fans that were happy to see the pair scheming together will be excited to see that this will continue with next week's penultimate episode.
In this week's Gossip Girl the day planner that Nate (Chace Crawford) stole from Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) became the vital tool in the big scheme to find out exactly who Chuck's real parents are. The planner however was written in code and so Chuck calls upon the best schemer he knows; Blair. Meanwhile Lola (Ella Rae Peck) has finally convinced Nate that Serena (Blake Lively) is indeed the current incarnation of Gossip Girl. Lola »

The Upper East Side is still reeling from the news that Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) is Chuck's (Ed Westwick) mother. But as has always been the case with "Gossip Girl," things are not necessarily as they seem. Here's what we learned on Monday's (April 23) episode...
[Spoiler Alert]
Lola's Dad - In a fleeting moment of honesty, William van der Woodsen (William Baldwin) admits that he is, in fact, Lola's long-lost father. While Lola's (Ella Rae Peck) content keeping this a secret, Serena's (Blake Lively) an accidental sleuth and finds out the news almost as it happens. Once she shares this information with Lily (Kelly Rutherford), a chaotic family get together soon follows. But is William simply playing the long con?
Ivy's "Mom" - Due to some clever "legal" maneuvering, Lily manages to get CeCe's will invalidated. But that's far from the end of matters. There's still the whole issue of Carol Rhodes »

Cruel, cruel fakeout, Gossip Girl. Turns out, G.G.'s mother of a twist from last week was all a lie! Elizabeth Hurley's Diana Payne isn't Chuck's (Ed Westwick) birth mother, y'all! So then who is? Well...it's complicated. Also complicated? The Van der Woodsen's family lineage, thanks to William's (Billy Baldwin) cheating ways. In addition to all of the family drama, Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair's (Leighton Meester) relationship was tested in a major way. Plus, who's the new wicked witch of the Upper East Side? Tonight on Gossip Girl: Blair is Back to Scheming
Gossip Girl is often about grand schemes and manipulations and Blair (Leighton Meester) was once the master of this area. Recently Blair has had more on her mind including royal weddings and royal divorce; will tonight see Blair returning to these old ways? Blair is not the only one who needs to resolve an issue as Lily (Kelly Rutherford) is still trying to protect the reputation of her family and Nate (Chace Crawford) is intrigued as to where Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) gets her money from.
In the producers preview (which you can view below) we are promised 'vintage Blair' thanks to something that is written about her in a magazine. Blair normally delights in reading these magazines and says "I love reading bad things about my friends, it's the only thing that makes me feel better about myself." Tonight she »

Tonight on Gossip Girl: Dan and Blair Go Public (Sneak Peek)
Blair (Leighton Meester) and Dan (Penn Badgley) have been a couple for a few weeks on Gossip Girl and now that Blair has her divorce papers they can step out as an official item. Not to be one to go all bashful Blair of course wants to announce this in a big way and this becomes the setting for the weekly Gossip Girl event, an event that will see some drama of course.
Blair is free from her royal shackles (that didn't actually seem that bad as she's been swanning around New York since the wedding) and so this 'coming out' event begins as an exercise in revelling in Blair's freedom. As you can see from the sneak peek below, Blair is essentially making plans that are perfect for her without taking into account any of Dan's tastes. »

Tonight on Gossip Girl: Elizabeth Hurley Returns
Scheming and manipulation are two elements that you can always guarantee to find on Gossip Girl; Elizabeth Hurley returns tonight as Diana Payne to use both of these methods to snatch back The Spectator from Nate (Chace Crawford). Serena (Blake Lively) is also trying to figure out how to balance her regular life with her new role as Gossip Girl and it looks like Lola (Ella Rae Peck) might be the person to help. Chuck (Ed Westwick) is looking to his past after discovering that it wasn't Jack (Desmond Harrington) that saved his life after the car accident; will he find the truth?
Diana is a confident woman who has used her sexuality in the past to manipulate a situation to get what she wants and as you can see in the producers preview Diana knows that sex sells. To show that »

"Gossip Girl" gets a much-needed infusion of excitement when Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) returns to the show on Monday (April 9). The question is how happy is Nate (Chace Crawford) that she's coming back?
In a preview with show producers, we see that Diana is ready to reclaim her mantle as the head of the struggling NY Spectator. Her first item of business is to make sure that everyone realizes that sex sells. So she hosts an underwear party. Nothing like having a bunch of good looking people running around in next to nothing to help sell papers. But will this involve Diana running around in her underwear with Nate as well?
At the same time, Serena's (Blake Lively) not having any fun running Gossip Girl because she doesn't like writing about herself. So she decides to make Lola (Ella Rae Peck) the new "It Girl." This apparently fits in nicely »

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 5, Episode 18 of The CW's "Gossip Girl," entitled "Con Heir."
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and in the case of this week's "Gossip Girl," I actually found that old adage to be true. While recent episodes have stumbled blindly from one plot contrivance to the next with little logic to connect them, the show's April 2 return, "Con Heir," seemed shockingly coherent. True to form, there were schemes, lies and highly public familial spats, which is pretty much 90 percent of what we tune in for, no?
Of course, your overall enjoyment of the episode may have hinged on whether you're wholly invested in seeing the Dan/Blair love affair play out after years of delayed gratification, or whether their copious attempts to copulate had you tossing your Chuck/Blair-loving cookies in a fit of rage. If you fall into the latter category, »

Apparently there was a "Gossip Girl" episode on Monday (April 2). But you'd never know it based on the overall lack of activity. Here's a quick recap of what you missed, although we must warn you it wasn't much.
[Spoiler Alert]
Dan (Leighton Meester) and Blair (Leighton Meester) - The new lovers struggle to consummate their relationship. After too many interruptions, they head off to a hotel and attempt to close the deal. But the pressure initially proves too much for the two of them. Luckily they get sauced later on and give it another go. That's when things turn out just right, with a combined Bac of .32.
Ivy's (Kaylee DeFer) inheritance - In what's probably dangerously close to entrapment, William (William Baldwin) encourages Ivy to throw a party honoring CeCe. But the gig is all based on a scheme to get Ivy to compensate the will executor, which apparently is a legal no no. »

After years of waiting, the Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair (Leighton Meester) experiment is about to begin in earnest on Monday's (April 2) episode of "Gossip Girl." But according to Ep Josh Safran, it's going to be far from smooth sailing.
Safran explains that the two will struggle not only with the physical part of their new partnership but also with the emotional part.
"It's a new kind of relationship for Blair. She's never dated a friend before," Safran says. "And here Dan has become one of Blair's best friends, so that's obviously a new dynamic for her."
But it's not just Blair who will have problems with this new romance. Dan seems to have some difficulties with what this means now that he's finally gotten his dream girl.
Safran explains that Lonely Boy will have to deal with "all those expectations he's had and what he hoped it would be. »

After a little bit of an early Spring Break, "Gossip Girl" will return with new episodes on Monday (April 2). And it looks like the party will just be getting started.
In a preview video with producers, we learn a little bit about each of the storylines that will be emerging in the new episode. The most notable item for fans of the Dan (Penn Badgley)/Blair (Leighton Meester) pairing is that the two want to consummate their relationship, but this proves easier said than done. It also creates quite an embarrassing situation at one point for Blair. That said, we're pretty certain they'll find that practice makes perfect.
As for Ivy (Kaylee DeFer) and her inheritance, this should be quite the enjoyable segment. Nothing like watching people scheme (or maybe even grovel) to get back what they believe to be rightfully theirs. We're guessing that Ivy has learned enough manipulation »

When last we left off on "Gossip Girl," Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair (Leighton Meester) had finally decided to give their long simmering relationship a go. Of course, this was much to the dismay of Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Serena (Blake Lively) who would prefer a completely different pairing.
In some sneak peak photos of the April 2 episode, we see that Dair might not be the only love interest percolating. Nate (Chace Crawford) and Lola (Ella Rae Peck) look to be getting a little more serious too.
The big news on the Upper East Side is that Charlie (Kaylee DeFer) landed the lion's share of CeCe's inheritance, much to the dismay of everyone else. It's certain that there will be a protracted fight over this cash.
The episode is aptly titled "Con Heir."
