23 July 2016 7:41 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The Arrow panel at San Diego Comic Con didn't seem to be as full of surprises as usual.

There was a new trailer released of Arrow Season 5 footage which can be found below.

In it, the focus, surprisingly, was on Oliver and Laurel, and the promise he made to her upon her deathbed and moving forward.

We've been told we'll be getting the details on that promise during Season 5.

It just might happen in the premiere.

A premiere on which Katie Cassidy will be appearing.

Yes, Katie Cassidy will be back on Arrow, and not for just one episode.

Probably the biggest news out of the Arrow panel was that Cassidy struck a deal with the Berlanti-verse similar to that of Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart) and John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn).

Katie Cassidy will not be disappearing from this universe,” showrunner Wendy Mericle said.

Cassidy will now appear across all three shows, »

Death can’t keep Black Canary down.

Katie Cassidy has signed a deal with Warner Bros. to appear across the CW’s DC Comics-based television shows, which includes “Legends of Tomorrow,” “The Flash” and “Arrow.” Wendy Mericle, executive producer of “Arrow,” announced the news at Comic-Con Saturday.

Katie Cassidy will not be disappearing from this universe,” Mericle said.

Cassidy’s deal follows similar deals announced earlier this year for Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman.

Cassidy will be returning to the broader CW-dc universe despite the fact that her character died last season. Miller’s character was also killed off in the first season of “Legends of Tomorrow.”

A trailer for the upcoming fifth season of “Arrow” also provided a look at the series’ new main villain, who Guggenheim said is a new character named Prometheus. Guggenheim pointed out that the character is not the same one created by Grant Morrison for DC Comics, but »

Black Canary Can't Appear On Legends Of Tomorrow Because Arrow Still Has Plans For Her

20 July 2016 9:02 AM, PDT | | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Could there be more in store for Katie Cassidy's Black Canary besides a memorial statue commissioned  by new Star City mayor, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell)?  That could very well be the case, unless showrunner Marc Guggenheim is intentionally laying a false trail.   Viewers of the show that are upset with the progression of one-time fan favorite Felicity Smoak (Emily Bet Rickards) clung to the lone hope  that Oliver Queen was ultimately destined to end up with his comic book love interest, Laurel Lance.  However, with the character's death in season 4, those hopes seemed dashed leaving "Olicity" as Oliver's lone romantic possibility.  However, a recent interview with [TV Guide via Cbr] has a cryptic response from Guggenheim which implies that Cassidy isn't eligible to appear on the time-traveling spinoff Legends of Tomorrow because there's still plans for her on Arrow.   Do you think Laurel will return from the grave? She certainly wouldn't be the »

Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) was an integral part of the DC Comics universe for her part in Arrow as well as The Flash. Her death in Arrow was felt by not only Oliver, but subsequently in The Flash and even had emotional repercussions for her sister Sara in Legends of Tomorrow. However, in a recent interview with Fangirlish, Cassidy thought of a pretty brilliant way that she could reprise her role as Laurel without having to resurrect Arrow's Black Canary.

22 June 2016 7:14 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Season four of Arrow upset a lot of fans when the decision was made to kill off Katie Cassidy’s Black Canary, and while the actress made a brief return as her Earth-2 doppelganger in The Flash, it appears as if her tenure as a Star City vigilante is officially over. After all, her death was pretty definitive, and several people involved with the series have ruled out a resurrection.

However, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim has now taken to social media to reveal a new piece of concept art for season five which seemingly reveals a memorial which will be created to honour the Black Canary’s memory following her death.
