Brian T. Encinia, the Texas state trooper who arrested Sandra Bland, was indicted on a charge of perjury on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. According to the New York Times, the charge was a result of an affidavit that the officer filed, explaining why he arrested Bland. In the document he said he asked Bland to leave her car so that he could conduct a safe traffic investigation. However, special prosecutor Shawn McDonald told the newspaper "the grand jury found that statement to be false." Bland, 28, was arrested and taken into custody in July when she returned to Texas on...
