Four Creepy Clips From Insidious

James Wan’s “Insidious” recently played SXSW, and from everything I’ve heard, it killed. Hard to believe, then, that the film has sat around since 2010, and is only now headed into theaters April 1, 2011. Of course, it could end up being the surprise hit of 2011. Hey, worked for “Paranormal Activity”, right? Here are four creepy clips from the movie. The writer-director team behind Saw and the filmmakers of Paranormal Activity redefine the haunted house genre in Insidious. This horror film is the terrifying story of a family who shortly after moving discover that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to discover that it was not their house that was haunted. Starring Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, Ty Simpkins, Andrew Astor, Angus Sampson, Lin Shaye, Leigh Whannell,

Trailer: James Wan’s ‘Insidious’

James Wan made a name for himself with this directorial debut Saw. The independent low-budget horror film spawned six sequels and has since become one of the highest grossing franchises ever. Saw is perhaps one of the most influential horror films of the decade. In light of its measly $1.2 million price tag the film’s quality relative to bigger-budget horror films is striking, and best of all it introduced a new horror icon in Jigsaw. But while the Saw franchise continued to find success, James Wan did not. His two follow ups Death Sentence and Dead Silence both bombed at the box office and received some incredibly bad reviews from film critics.

Well now the director is back with Insidious, one of the films playing SXSW’s Midnight Features slate later next month. It’s a film that Jame Wan has been quoted as saying is “the Poltergeist for this generation”. Insidious stars Patrick Wilson,
