Kellan Lutz's new girlfriend has posed nude for Playboy. Brittny Ward, who started dating the 'Twilight Saga' star in October, has been named the Miss January 2015 Playmate by the magazine and says she hopes to have ''great sex'' throughout next year. The 24-year-old beauty claims she felt like Angelina Jolie during the risky photo-shoot, explaining: ''I felt very badass when shooting this pictorial--a bit like, say Angelina Jolie. I felt like a hyper confident, kick** woman.'' Asked if she has a mantra, she said: ''Have fun. Regret nothing, and don't let people judge or bring you down.'' Meanwhile, Brittny claims she recently ''turned to the dark side'' after originally starting out as a beauty queen 12 years ago. She said: ''I'm so different from when I was in the pageants, putting on that smile. Now I'm into trying things that scare me, like skydiving and playing with wild animals. »

Sundance ’15: Baumbach, Fleck/Boden, Pulcini/Berman, Ponsoldt & Another Swanberg Among Premieres

8 December 2014 1:25 PM, PST | ioncinema | See recent ioncinema news »

Last year’s slate of seventeen Narrative Premieres (excluding secret screenings of Boyhood and Nymphomaniac: Vol. I) refreshingly included works from first time filmmakers. I hadn’t seen it coming but Little Accidents and The One I Love were included among the likes of Calvary, Frank and Love is Strange. 2015 will be a true we Swanberg family affair with Joe Swanberg joining wife Kris (Unexpected) with a feature as well in Digging for Fire. James Ponsoldt is officially four for four with Sundance — his latest End of the Tour should be a slam dunk for the Eccles. Sticking to the numbers game… we’ll have a lovely bedfellow pairings of Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s already announced The Stanford Prison Experiment which is going to be mentioned in many loglines alongside Michael Almereyda’s Experimenter - about the Milgram experiment. Among the filmmaking duos we were expecting, we find Mississippi Grind »

Sundance Film Festival Announces 2015 Premieres Lineup

8 December 2014 1:00 PM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Viola Davis, Jennifer Lopez, James Franco, Ewan McGregor, Greta Gerwig, Jesse Eisenberg, Saoirse Ronan, Ryan Reynolds, Peter Sarsgaard and Lily Tomlin — as well as directors Noah Baumbach, Michael Almereyda, Rodrigo Garcia, James Ponsoldt, Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman — are among the big names in the Premieres lineup at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, unveiled today along with Documentary Premieres and a new Special Events section.

Festival director John Cooper noted that while this year’s 16 Premieres selections will be among the buzziest, most commercial titles in Park City, “they’re not without an independent feel to them, and that’s what I’m always looking for. There is a very independent spirit behind these films.”

By way of example, Cooper cited “Last Days in the Desert,” a description-resistant foray into father-son territory from Garcia, a director known for his stories about women (“Nine Lives,” “Mother and Child”); John Crowley’s “Brooklyn, »

Best of Late Night TV: Reese Witherspoon's Awkward 'Random Phrase Carols,' Ethan Hawke's New Glasses (Video)

2 December 2014 11:28 PM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.

David Letterman and Seth Meyers are on repeats this week, but Jimmy Fallon is still keeping the holiday spirit alive. On Tuesday night, he and Reese Witherspoon sang "Random Phrase Carols," where classic holiday song lyrics were replaced by random words. For example, "Jingle Bells" became "Small Old Man." (Now "Small old man, small old man, small old man named Tom..." is in our heads forever.) Reese didn't quite nail her solo song, but then she and Jimmy did a little duet. The whole thing was pretty random, but after hearing the same Christmas carols a thousand times a year it's nice to have new lyrics.

Anyway, Reese was »

The Expendables 3 Blu-ray Review

2 December 2014 6:00 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

The Expendables movies feel like they shouldn’t exist outside of a fever dream.  Even watching one, they’re just the sugar-fueled stories of a kid who’s brought in all his toys to fight each other.  The first two weren’t great, but had moments of charm, and the third film might be the best of the bunch, even if it often feels like the cast are brought in based on their days available.  Sylvester Stallone leads The Expendables 3 cast that includes Harrison Ford, Jason Statham, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Ronda Rousey, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer and more and my review of the film on Blu-ray follows after the jump. The film starts as Stallone’s Barney Ross leads a rescue mission to retrieve original expendable Doc (Snipes), who’s been in prison for – as he says – “tax evasion” (wink wink).  After the big opening set piece which »

Sylvester Stallone says The Expendables 3’s PG-13 rating “was a horrible miscalculation”

24 November 2014 10:29 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The Expendables 3 didn’t do too well at the box office, saved only by international takings. It didn’t do too well with us here at Flickering Myth either, and you can see why here and here. And it seems that the big man himself, Sylvester Stallone, agreed. In an interview with Crave Online (which you can read here), the action star is asked if future instalments will be R-rated:

“Absolutely unequivocally yes. I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I’m quite certain it won’t happen again.”

Phew. Lets hope that he sticks to that when EX4 rolls around. At least he lost that awful moustache.

This past summer Sylvester Stallone made a return to the action franchise he started in 2010 with an entry that brought in a nice batch of old dogs and a group of newbs that added some flair to the series. Sylvester Stallone Says The Expendables 4 Will Be More Violent; Admits The PG-13 Rating For The Expendables 3 Was a Mistake

24 November 2014 5:57 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

There was a lot of backlash when The Expendables 3 was rated PG-13 in order to garner a wider audience.  Between that move and the unfortunate leak that occurred several weeks before the film's release, the sequel didn't really hit the box office with its best foot forward.  And now franchise creator Sylvester Stallone is weighing in by saying that rating the film for more family friendly audiences was a "horrible miscalculation."  Incidentally, he says this on the eve of the film's Blu-ray release, which will feature an unrated version of the picture.  He also promises that The Expendables 4, should it happen, will be more violent. Hit the jump Stallone's comments on The Expendables 3 rating.  The film (along with the unrated cut) arrives in a Blu-ray combo pack (with Digital HD) on November 25th.  Mel GibsonHarrison FordWesley SnipesArnold SchwarzeneggerKelsey GrammerAntonio BanderasJason Statham, »

Hercules Blu-ray Review

19 November 2014 6:00 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

In the words of the big man himself, Dwayne Johnson was born to play Hercules.  With apologies to Kellan Lutz, there's only one man in Hollywood these days that could convince audiences that he bested the Nemean Lion, beheaded the Lernaean Hydra, and beat back the Erymanthian Boar, and that man is The Rock.  Unfortunately, Brett Ratner's take on the Hercules legend chose not to explore the hero's twelve labors, but to adapt Steve Moore and Admira Wijaya's graphic novel, "Hercules: The Thracian Wars."  Perhaps if that had been communicated more clearly in the film's marketing, audiences (and maybe even critics) would have given Hercules more of a chance, since it's a surprisingly fun action-adventure film that lets Johnson swing away while surrounding him with a strong supporting cast.  Now that the film's available on Blu-ray, you can check it out for yourself. Arriving on Blu-ray/DVD next week is director Patrick Hughes’ The Expendables 3.  Like I said when the movie came out, The Expendables 3 is a lot of fun and my favorite of the series due in large part to Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas.  All three are awesome and Banderas steals every scene he’s in.  In addition to the new cast, The Expendables 3 has a crazy third act that’s easily the best action scene of the franchise.  I think the team kills over a thousand people.  The film also stars Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kelsey Grammer,  Antonio BanderasJason StathamJet LiDolph LundgrenRandy CoutureTerry CrewsKellan LutzRonda RouseyVictor Ortiz, and Glen Powell. 2015 Sundance Film Festival Predictions List: An Introduction

Whether you are a filmmaker, or one of the Sundance programmers whose task it is to identify the films that make up a line-up, it is indeed the most wonderful, panic-filled and nerve racking time of the year. The 31st edition of the Sundance Film Festival kicks off on January 22nd with Park City and Salt Lake City playing host to some of the more innovative, thought-provoking narrative and non-fiction films of 2015. Last year, a Jenga tall order of 4,057 features and 8,161 shorts were submitted. Now let’s think about those numbers for a second.

Twenty years ago, Terry Zwigoff’s Crumb claimed the Grand Jury Prize Documentary award, Living in Oblivion‘s Tom Dicillo was honored with the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award, and Edward Burns’ micro-budgeted The Brothers McMullen (there is a read-worthy, lively, eleventh hour account on how it was submitted to the fest in Ted Hope’s “Hope »
