Diego Boneta was named Cinemacon (formerly Showest) Rising Star of 2012 and won the ALMA Award for Best Male Actor. He was recently named one of US Weekly's "12 Breakout Stars of 2012" and awarded GQ Latin America "Actor of the Year." Earlier this year Diego starred in Rock of Ages as "Drew" for Adam Shankman and New Line Cinema, which was distributed through Warner Brothers in June. The film's cast included Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Mary J Blige, Catherine Zeta Jones and Paul Giamatti. Rock of Ages was also recently received a Grammy nomination for "Best Soundtrack."

Diego can be seen currently in creator Craig Wright's new show for MTV Underemployed. Previously Diego had recurring roles on ABC Family's hit series Pretty Little Liars and on CW's 90210.

Born in Mexico City, Diego began his career at the age of 12 when he participated in "Codigo Fama," a children's singing reality series in Mexico. Diego was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2006 MTV Awards Latin America as well as the Best Solo Singer at the MTV Awards Latin America in 2008.

Most recently Diego was feature in the following publications, InStyle, Cosmo, Elle, Details, and Esquire Magazines.

Toured with successful group RBD in Brazil, Spain, U.S.A. and throughout Latin America. He performed at the biggest stadium in the world - Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2006 for over 120,000 people.
He opened Hilary Duff's concerts in Mexico at the El Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City and in Guadalajara in 2004.
MTV Latin America Best New Artist Nomination in 2006.
Winner of the Most Popular Artist Award at La Serena, Chile Music Festival in 2007.
MTV Latin America Best Solo Performer Nomination in 2008.
Twice nominated to the Latin Grammys for Alegrijes y Rebujos & Mision SOS Best Children's Groups. (2003 & 2004).
Diego's father, Lauro Andrés González Lima, is Mexican. Diego's mother, Astrid Boneta López, was born in the United States, to a Puerto Rican father and a Spanish mother. Some of Diego's father's ancestry can be traced back to Spain (in the 1500s).
