- Lazy Lester was born on June 20, 1933 in Torras, Louisiana, USA. He was a composer, known for Alchemy of the Oracles (2008), Family Meeting (2007) and Lightning in a Bottle (2004). He died on August 22, 2018 in Paradise, California, USA.
- He was a singer and harmonica player whose rough style of blues were an influence on many other musicians. The Kinks covered his rockabilly-flavored "I'm a Lover, Not a Fighter" on their first album.
- As a teenager, he worked as a gas station attendant, woodcutter, and grocery clerk. He was in a local blues band, the Rhythm Rockers.
- I could concentrate on what other people were doing. I've always had a good ear for hearing stuff and putting stuff behind it. A player, a songwriter and a singer, it takes all these things to make one thing. Either I'm good, or I've got everybody fooled.
