Alain Mayrand products
Alain Mayrand writes music, most of the time with a pencil on very big paper. His score for the Jackie Chan film "The Legend of Silk Boy" was one of Jim Lochner's Top 10 Scores of 2010, and was #12 on the Top 50 Scores of 2010: Critics Choice, tabulated by Soundtrack Geek. He was also named Composer to Watch for 2011 by film music magazine.
Alain is composer-in-residence with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, his music has been performed and recorded by the Russian Film Music Symphony Orchestra, the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra of Taipei, the Ramat-Gan orchestra in Israel, the Troy University Concert Band in Alabama among many others.
Alain has a master's degree in composition under acclaimed composer Stephen Chatman and a bachelor's in piano and composition. He studied guitar, flute, cello and conducting and before all that really serious work he spent many years playing electric guitar in rock bands, metal bands, jazz bands and big bands.
Alain recently completed the film score for the indie thriller Comforting Skin.
