Ray Winstone (Nil By Mouth, The Departed) will arrive in Dublin this September for the shooting of new romantic comedy, 'Three Days in Dublin', written and directed by Beth Lauren. The film, produced by Freyja Films centres around Julianna, an award winning journalist who, despite her friend's warnings, falls for Dublin-based Brendan (played by 'Cinderella Man' actor Craig Warnock). When she wins an assignment to go to the city, said friends – Connie and Susan - decide to accompany her on the trip, vowing to look after her. That is until they both get sidetracked and a new friend, Ray Winstone's Fin, has to pick up the pieces of Julianna's heart. Connie is to be played by Alysia Reiner (Sideways, Kissing Jessica Stein) and Susan will be played by Marin Gazzaniga (So Close, 2k3). Other cast members include David Alan Basche (War of the Worlds, Sex and the City 2...

IFC’s original web series Like So Many Things arrives on the crest of Mumblecore, the approximately five year-old strain of independent filmmaking characterized by low-low-low budget production, unfussy shooting styles, stories focused on the romantic tribulations of young, post-collegiate urban hipsters, and, most notoriously, awkward and hesitant dialogue. I have no idea how connected, if at all, its creators are to this “movement” - I couldn’t find any links to Mumblecore pioneers like Andrew Bujalski or Joe Swanberg - but Like So Many Things possesses all the above qualities: a two-actors-and-a-camera cost overhead, dialogue-dependent camera angles, inarticulate and gawky romantic leads played by Greg Keller and Marin Gazzaniga (the latter is co-founder of the company, ThisThing Films, that produces the series), and lines like this: Karl (spotting Lucy from across the street): Hey! Hey! Lucy: Hey. Karl: Long time, no see. Lucy: What? Karl: You want to know who I am?...

IFC.com's newest web series "Like So Many Things..." premieres today, and co-creators Marin Gazzaniga and Anslem Richardson offer up their thoughts on the best films about romances that are anything but easy.
"Now it isn't that I don't like you, Susan, because, after all, in moments of quiet, I'm strangely drawn toward you, but, well, there haven't been any quiet moments."
-- "Bringing Up Baby"
Meeting Mr./Ms. Wrong movies come in many varieties. There are the star-crossed lovers who are kept apart by outside forces ("Romeo and Juliet"). Or the couple whose hate for each other is only masking the sparks of true passion (just about any Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy movie). Then there's the man or woman who's certain that someone is their one and only, but has to spend the course of the film convincing that person that it's true ("Bringing Up Baby"). Why is...
