14 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

So what about introducing a female Thor into the McU one day? Kevin Feige thinks it's a possibility.

The President of Marvel Studios has been making the press rounds in order to promote Thor: Ragnarok, which is set to hit theaters on November 3. At one point, he was asked about the possibility of a major change up by bringing in a female version of the God of Thunder into the movies eventually. While he makes it pretty clear »

Kevin Feige Reveals What Happened To Lady Sif Before Thor: Ragnarok

16 October 2017 3:45 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

As we’ve been told many times now, Thor: Ragnarok is a complete reinvention of the God of Thunder’s solo franchise, sharing little in common with the tone of the two movies that went before it. Mostly, that’s proven to be the right move, as the threequel is earning stellar reviews across the board.

However, something that’s got Thor fans miffed is the absence of Lady Sif. Though Jaimie Alexander was previously reported to be appearing in the film, early screenings have confirmed that she’s not involved. So, what gives? Well, apparently, it’s all to do with Loki impersonating Odin and taking control of Asgard at the end of Thor: The Dark World

While talking with Cinema Blend, Marvel chief Kevin Feige had the following to say:

“It’s been in the works for many years, right, since we finished Dark World. What has Loki »

It's been four years since Thor: The Dark World hit theaters. And the Thor trilogy ends with next month's Thor: Ragnarok. A mystery surrounding one of the characters has finally been solved. Kind of. Warning, there will be Spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok below, so read on at your own risk.

When Thor: Ragnarok started production back in November 2016, Marvel confirmed several returning cast members, such as Idris Elba (Heimdall) and Anthony Hopkins (Odin), alongside Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Many fans were surprised, though, that Jaimie Alexander wasn't confirmed to return as Lady Sif, although there had been several rumors that she was returning, which turned out to be false. Marvel’s Plan for TV Domination: Which Shows Pack a Punch, Take a Leap, or Fall Flat on Their Faces

29 September 2017 6:00 AM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

Marvel has planted its seeds far and wide over the past few years in the television landscape, but that volume has so far yielded mixed results.

While rival DC has found success by focusing on familiar franchises like “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Supergirl,” and the Batman origins tale on “Gotham,” Marvel has been a bit more stingy with its marquee characters. For example, ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” lives in the world of the Avengers, yet never became a hit partly because it focused on lesser-known characters.

But that’s not always a hindrance. Many of Marvel’s Netflix series, especially “Jessica Jones,” have been critically acclaimed partly because they felt like they hadn’t been overly mined previously. It takes a visionary showrunner, in this age of so many superhero tales, to bring a fresher take to the genre and keep interest high.

Big Little Lies won big (not little) at this year’s Emmys — and even director Jean-Marc Vallée is now ready to book a return trip to Monterey.

The acclaimed HBO series was only intended to air for a single season — hence, its inclusion in the Emmys’ Limited Series category — but a Season 2 has been quietly in the works, with HBO programming president Casey Bloys admitting in July that he’s asked the book’s author Liane Moriarty to “take a crack at” a new season of stories. Vallée, though, had previously been a holdout, flatly stating that “there’s no »
