LMN's first mini is 'Desperate'
Lifetime Movie Network is revisiting the deadliest string of murders by a serial killer in U.S. history with "Desperate: The Search for the Green River Killer."

The four-hour project, which stars Tom Cavanagh, Amy Davidson, Sharon Lawrence and James Russo, marks LMN's first miniseries.

Based on the book "Chasing the Devil: My Twenty-Year Quest to Capture the Green River Killer," by Sheriff David Reichert, the lead investigator on the Green River case, "Desperate" follows two teen girls trying to escape their rough life at a Seattle-area trailer park who get on a collision course with the infamous Green River Killer.

The book was adapted by writer John Pielmeier (FX's "Sins of the Father"). Norma Bailey (Lifetime's "Eight Days to Live") is set to direct the mini.

The Green River case began in 1982, when the bodies of three women were found in and near the Green River in suburban Seattle. The killer, whose identity remained a mystery for 20 years until a DNA test linked Gary Ridgway to the first victims, targeted runaway teenagers and prostitutes.
