Today Rolling Stone published a list of the 50 greatest songs by boy bands. While the ranking sent us off on a nostalgia-tinged reverie spanning the Monkees to One Direction while highlighting underrated boy-band fare (the Bay City Rollers' "Saturday Night" and Musical Youth's "Pass the Dutchie"), there was one glaring omission: the Beatles. (Fine, two: the Beach Boys.) As is often the case with lists of this nature (Vulture's included), Rs's stated criteria attempts to justify its choices — in this instance, the disqualification of the Fab Four, the Wilson brothers, and more boy-band-y boy bands. "In deciding the right stuff for a list of the 50 greatest boy band songs," the introduction read, "we had to exclude bands that weren't sufficiently svengali'd (apologies to Hanson and 5 Seconds of Summer — you kept it too real) and avoided acts too close to the Motown vocal group tradition (Boyz II Men, All-...

When Donna Summer passed away a year and a half ago (heaven knows, it’s not the way it should be), it was like a dagger in the heart for many of us who grew up listening to her music. The undisputed Queen Of Disco, she would make a successful transition out of the 70′s, and continue to churn out hits for years afterward.
Donna became “Born Again” in the early 80′s, and it would radically alter her career, as well as her relationship with the gay community. For 30 years, until her death, she was dogged by the rumor that she made a comment about AIDS being God’s punishment, and even though she vehemently denied it, It continued to persist.
It’s sad that an unprovable piece of gossip could tarnish her reputation for decades, but on this, her 65th birthday, we can take a look back at the legacy she left behind.

Last week, we tried to give the "American Idol" top nine some helpful advice with a selection of songs they should sing during Idols week. Of course, they mostly ignored us — except for our girl J.Sanch, who totally did Beyoncé and advanced — but we remain undeterred, which is why we're back this week with even more picks.
This time out, "Idol" is taking us back to the 1980s, which is great news for both Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, but totally makes us wish Heejun Han was still around — we'd pay good money to see him do "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Living With a Hernia." But that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of great opportunities for the remaining eight.

Nathan took some time away this week on One Tree Hill.
What did you think of the episode, which also focused on Brooke and Haley bonding, as well as Quinn assisting Clay with a tragic loss?
As you weigh in with thoughts on the installment, head over to our One Tree Hill music section and check out the latest singles played on the show. A few samples:
Musical Youth - "Pass The Dutchie" Ryan Calhoun - "Break Me Down" Shane Alexander - "Feels Like the End"...

James Roday and Dulé Hill, who play the characters of Shawn Spencer and Gus Guster on the witty Psych, just want to have fun.
The two actors took part in an interview last week in support of the premiere of their fourth season on USA Network (in Canada, E! Entertainment is currently airing the show's third season), and it's clear that they have fun during every step of the process of making the series, from shooting to publicity.
In this conversation we get more details on the American Werewolf in London and Twin Peaks inspired episodes of the show, and find out what Monica Bellucci and Halle Berry have in common.
The fourth season of Psych premieres on Friday, August 7.
Question: I know that you’ve both played very different characters. Mr. Roday played alongside Maggie Lawson in Fear Itself and Mr. Dulé had a wonderful part on West Wing.
