8 hours ago | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Cm Punk revealed the brand new cover for Thq’s WWE ’13 during last night’s edition of Raw. The current WWE Champion replaces “The Viper” Randy Orton who was the poster child for last year’s WWE ’12.

Thq have revealed that they created modified versions of Cm Punk’s shoulder tattoos for this year’s edition and that he physically looks much more realistic as a grappler than he did last year.

Here’s the official cover for the game;

WWE ’13 is set for release on October 30th. A major presentation for the game is expected to happen at E3 in a few weeks time although Thq prematurely released the official early teaser trailer for the game last week that they quickly removed from the web. Though the video is still circulating across YouTube and can be viewed below;

WWE ’13 is to be promoted using the term “Live the Revolution »

Brock Lesnar Returning To Ufc?

27 May 2012 11:06 PM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar was spotted in the crowd at Saturday’s Ufc 146 PPV and was shown on camera before the Frank Mir vs Junior do Santos main event. Ufc big wig Dana White was asked later in the show if a return to the Octagon was on the cards for the former Word Heavyweight Champion, to which he responded simply by saying “Yeah”.

This has led to much speculation as to whether or not Lesnar could return to Ufc despite being locked in a one year deal with the WWE that doesn’t expire until WrestleMania 29 in March 2013. Sources are questioning whether this is all part of the ‘Brock Lesnar quits WWE’ storyline or if he actually has intentions of stepping back inside the Mma cage environment. Is this Lesnar’s way of putting Vince McMahon and co. on notice? Is Brock using WWE for a bit of extra »

This Week in WWE: Sheamus Shines & Kane Recovers To Wrestle After 26 Chair Shots

27 May 2012 4:21 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Sheamus continues to shine as a worker, Tyson Kidd and Antonio Cesaro steal the show on Superstars and Kane is still able to wrestle after receiving twenty six chair shots prior to a match-up. Here is a look at the best and some of the worse stuff from the past week in the WWE.

Wrestler of the week:  Sheamus

The Irishman coming to the aid of John Cena at the start of Raw brought some much needed energy to a dire segment involving John Laurinaitis, Eve and the Big Show and helped to wash away the taste of yet another horrendous verbal performance from Cena. Later in the night, when partnering with the poster boy, the world heavyweight champion had some great powerhouse exchanges with Tensai, some brilliantly heroic brawling on the outside with the lumberjacks and solid back and forths with both Ziggler and Swagger who he also had »

WWE Suspends Chris Jericho For 30 Days

26 May 2012 3:03 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

On Friday evening, WWE.com announced that Chris Jericho had been suspended for 30 days.

As we reported yesterday, WWE had suspended Jericho “indefinitely” for “desecrating” the Brazil national flag during the company’s first ever live event in the country. Jericho kicked the flag that had been thrown into the ring by a fan during an attempt to draw heat from the crowd but as desecrating the national flag is an offence in Brazil, he was spoken to by police and was nearly arrested before he apologised to the live crowd.

WWE.com updated their report on Jericho with the following statement;

“WWE Superstar Chris Jericho has been suspended for 30 days due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24.”

Jericho has been pulled from all live event appearances and replaced by Daniel Bryan for the main event WWE Title matches against Cm Punk. »

WWE have suspended Chris Jericho indefinitely following an incident at a WWE live event in Sao Paulo, Brazil last night (May 24th).

WWE.com confirmed the suspension today;

Chris Jericho as been suspended indefinitely due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24. WWE has apologized to the citizens and the government of Brazil for this incident.

PWInsider.com reports that Jericho was suspended for kicking a Brazilian flag during a match against WWE Champion Cm Punk. Desecrating the national flag in Brazil is a crime punishable by incarceration.

Wrestler Chris Jericho Suspended

25 May 2012 5:11 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Wrestler Chris Jericho has been suspended by his WWE bosses for desecrating a Brazilian flag during a match in Sao Paulo.

The star, who also acts and plays in a rock band, took on Cm Punk in the city on Thursday and after his rival began waving the flag, Jericho snatched it from him, crumpled it up and kicked it out of the ring.

However, local police then stepped in to put a stop to the event as desecrating the national flag is a crime in Brazil, and Jericho was ordered to apologise or face punishment.

The star did as instructed and the match was allowed to continue, but Jericho has now been suspended indefinitely by chiefs at World Wrestling Entertainment for his actions.

A statement from WWE reads, "Chris Jericho has been suspended indefinitely due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE event in Sao Paulo on May 24. The WWE has apologised to the citizens and the government of Brazil for this incident."

Jericho adds, "I made a bad judgment call in the course of entertaining fans in Brazil. I apologised to the people in the crowd for showing disrespect. It was a bad move. I did it with fans' entertainment in mind and I'll accept the consequences for that." »

WWE Raw Results 21/5/12 – Big Show Knocks Out John Cena

22 May 2012 12:50 PM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow results from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. The event took place just one night after WWE Over The Limit’s pay-per-view.

John Cena’s music hits and he opens the show, coming down to the ring with a serious look on his face. He congratulates John Laurinaitis on his win last night and the only explanation he can come up with for Big Show’s actions was that he had sold out. Cena says Show shouldn’t have worried as he would have been re-hired by whomever took over from Laurinaitis when he got fired.

Laurinaitis comes out in a handicap scooter with Eve Torres by his side. He gets to his feet with crutches and reveals he was sent to hospital last night because his injuries were so bad. He says if Cena or anyone else ever lays a hand on him they would be immediately fired. »

What Does Chris Jericho’s Future Hold in WWE?

22 May 2012 11:04 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Judging by his mugging of Randy Orton on WWE Raw, it looks like Chris Jericho will spend the foreseeable future battling with The Viper. They will surely produce some thrilling encounters, but that will not detract from Jericho’s fourth failure in consecutive pay-per-views to win a world title.

At Sunday’s WWE Over the Limit, he was pinned by defending champion Sheamus in a fatal four way that also featured Alberto Del Rio and his new nemesis Orton.

Having retired due to injury at the Elimination Chamber, and after losing cleanly against Cm Punk at Wrestlemania and Extreme Rules – this latest loss may signal the twilight of his distinguished 22 year career.

Since coming to the WWE in 1999, the Canadian grappler has come and gone, but has managed to re-invent himself with relative ease. Each one of his returns has been greeted with much fanfare; but he needs to deliver »

WWE Over the Limit Results – Big Show Costs John Cena

21 May 2012 12:21 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE Over the Limit Recap. May 20th 2012 from the Pnc Centre in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Pre Show:

Kane defeated Zack Ryder

Kane went from two pay-per-view matches against Randy Orton, to a pre-show nothing clash against Zack Ryder. It was short and it wasn’t surprising, but what do you expect from a pre show? Kane won after reversing the Ruff Ryder into a Choke Slam.

WWE Over The Limit goes live…

Battle Royal for #1 Contender to Intercontinental or Us Title

Christian wins!

After Kane and Ryder ended on the pre show, we got the entrances of mostly everyone on the main roster who didn’t already have a match. William Regal got noticeably larger reaction than everyone else… until Christian returned as a surprise entrant. Weird that they didn’t save it for the main show. Once everyone was in the ring, we went Live to the Pay Per View. »

WWE Over The Limit PPV – What Can We Expect?

20 May 2012 7:53 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Over The Limit

Pnc Arena in Raleigh, Nc

Don’t be fooled by WWE Over The Limit’s lacklustre buildup, where the PPV itself has been derived of any real strong individual story lines, the matches themselves hold they’re own strengths and intrigue. The WWE title bout itself is said to be an Internet fanboys dream. A World Heavyweight title contest pitting 4 men who have all had their own brush with the Gold against each other. John Laurinitis set to get his comupence from John Cena, while the rest of card is a general affair.

Pre Show – Zack Ryder vs Kane

This will mark the third consecutive show that WWE have aired a teaser prior to their PPV, giving fans a small taster of what to expect and WWE’s last ditch attempt to garner those additional PPV buys.

Over the last year Zack Ryder’s stock has plummeted. »

WWE Over The Limit Predictions – Brock Lesnar To Return?

20 May 2012 1:12 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

After arguably throwing money down the drain with their Extreme Rules PPV last month, Vince McMahon’s WWE is back on your TV this weekend with their 3rd Over The Limit event. With no advertised appearance by Brock Lesnar one has to wonder how the buy rate will be affected, especially with a main event featuring a non wrestler.

Kane Vs Zack Ryder (Dark Match)

It seems illogical to have this match as a dark match when you consider the TV exposure Ryder got at the hands of his various beatings from The Big Red Machine. Hell, Ryder even interjected himself in Kane’s last PPV match with Randy Orton so surely the payoff for fans is to see this on television?

Prediction: We all know Ryder needs the victory but with the continued downward spiral of the Long Island Iced Z it’s surely another meaningless win for the masked demon. »

WWE Over the Limit PPV Preview

20 May 2012 12:36 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

With the star-studded dust of Wrestlemania season resting firmly behind us, wrestling fans move on to one of the few designated lulls in WWE’s tumultuous calendar. Spring time for the global entertainment giant is usually relatively quiet – recycled Wrestlemania matches line the cards of the Pay-Per-Views to follow and most, if not all of the star power that graced us with their presence for the Showcase of the Immortals have moved onto bigger and brighter things.

Spring 2012 is no exception. The Rock quickly delivered his swan song (at least for now) the night after Wrestlemania, and Brock Lesnar’s short lived run has WWE scrambling to carbe their path into summer.

The result is the third annual Over the Limit. It’s light on star power, but heavy on potentially memorable matches. A show that, if executed properly, could undoubtedly be a sleeper hit of the year.

WWE Raw Review 14/5/12 – John Laurinaitis Fires Big Show

16 May 2012 11:36 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

The Big News:  John Laurinaitis fired Big Show but was informed by John Cena that he too would be fired unless he emerged victorious in their match at Over the Limit. Meanwhile Paul Heyman made another appearance and threatened Triple H with a lawsuit after Hunter made physical contact with him and Chris Jericho inflamed further animosity between Sheamus and Randy Orton in the build to their fatal four way world heavyweight championship match.

In a Nutshell: Phoney lawsuits, false firings and comedy villains or how the WWE stopped caring and learnt that they could simply rely on Wrestlemania.

Triple H and John Laurinaitis bumped into one another backstage at the start of the show. Laurinaitis explained that he had no idea Brock Lesnar was going to attack him like he did and then amusingly disguised an insult with false sympathy by saying how painful it was to watch Lesnar »
