Artists from Team Danny and Team Jessie sing live
Hello, and welcome to another preposterously early The Voice liveblog. This time, the show has been moved forward so it doesn't clash with the Champions League final, even though a) there probably isn't much overlap between the two audiences and b) they still clash anyway. But never mind.
Anyway, after four acts were eliminated last week (I can't remember which ones, but neither of them were Ruth Brown or Jaz Ellington so it probably doesn't matter), we're back with Team Jessie and Team Danny tonight. These, you'll remember, are the teams that don't include Ruth Brown or Jaz Ellington, so there's probably not much point watching. But still watch it anyway. Watch it for me. I can't do this alone. Love me.
You know how these work by now - I'll spend the next couple of hours struggling to describe the »

Rock 'n' roll legend Mick Jagger has been spoofed on numerous comedy shows over the years but now he's getting a chance to prove his own comic chops when he hosts the Saturday Night Live season finale on May 19.
A Grammy First for Mick Jagger
It will be the first time the Rolling Stones frontman has hosted SNL, although he's appeared on the show as a musical guest twice and once made a cameo during a skit in which he portrayed a mirror reflection of Jimmy Fallon.
Mick Jagger & Joss Stone Improvise a Classic
The Rolling Stones are marking their 50th anniversary this year, but have not announced any major activities to commemorate the occasion. The legendary group is preparing for a major concert tour next year. »

American Idol Top 5 Perform: Shake It Out
When I first saw the song list on the American Idol Twitter account, I sighed. If anything comes out of this season, I think it's that all the contestants are terrific singers, but terrible at song choice. (Colton may have been the lone exception, and he even made a lot of mistakes.) But after the night was over, I had to admit, there were only three performances below a B, and they all belonged to the same contestant.
I'd also like to note that as a long time fan of American Idol, my favorite contestant has never left before top three. So it was a little jarring for me to watch without Elise. Last night's theme was songs from the 60s and Brit pop, and instead of going in performance order, I think I'd like to go from worst to first. So here we go. »

From the horse-drawn carriage to the kiss seen 'round the world, William & Kate's wedding was the most romantic day ever -- and we're just days away from their one-year anniversary April 29! In front of a crowd of 2,000 -- plus the two billion more in front of their TVs -- Kate Middleton and Prince William tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. After a nine-year courtship, William, 29, and Kate, 30, were finally husband and wife! Nearly stealing the show was sister Pippa Middleton, Kate's maid of honor, who stunned in a white Sarah Burton gown. Pippa, 28, and a gaggle of little bridesmaids helped the blushing bride walk down the aisle with her nearly 8-foot long train. At the altar, best man Prince Harry, 27, stood by brother Will's side, looking dashing in his black uniform with gold details. Will and Kate said their "I do"s in front of a guest-list of »

The Voice's live shows kick off tomorrow night. So who are we looking forward to hearing from – and who would we like to see swiftly voted off the show?
So far The Voice has given us blind auditions and tone-deaf battles, but that was just the warmup. Tomorrow night, The Voice's live shows begin. This means two things – first, I'll be running a liveblog for the duration the show. And second, we have to work out who any of the singers actually are. This is more confusing than it sounds.
Although the crop of contestants has been thinned from 40 to 20, they're all still extraordinarily similar. Broadly speaking, all the boys look as if they asked their hairdresser for a Mark Ronson but came out with an Olly Murs, and all the girls look like unpaid Hollyoaks extras. Some wear hats. A slim minority are bald. One has taken all his visual cues from Gandalf. »

London -- One of the men accused of plotting to kidnap and murder soul singer Joss Stone has been placed in a mental-health unit ahead of his trial in August.
Junior Bradshaw and Kevin Liverpool were arrested in June near Stone's secluded house in the town of Cullompton, 175 miles (280 kilometers) southwest of London. Prosecutors have said a samurai sword and notes mentioning Stone's name were found in their car.
Exeter Crown Court heard Monday that results of a psychiatric test to determine Bradshaw's fitness to stand trial will be made available in June.
Bradshaw has not yet entered a plea to charges of conspiracy to murder and other crimes.
Liverpool has pleaded not guilty to the same charges. »

Taken collectively, this mania for all things Titanic feels less like a respectful commemoration and more like a smash-and-grab job
Sunday marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic anniversary – a fact you might somehow have missed, because it's not like television is making much fuss about the occasion. There's only been that Julian Fellowes mini-series, the Len Goodman series, a flurry of documentaries about every conceivable variation on the Titanic theme, and constant, unrelenting trails and promos for this weekend's programming.
This includes, but is not limited to: an ITV show where Richard E Grant reads letters from Titanic passengers; a Channel 4 drama documentary told from the perspective of the Titanic's boiler room staff; a BBC2 commemorative Titanic concert featuring Joss Stone and Bryan Ferry; and, on The History Channel, a programme called Nazi Titanic that I'm too weary to even think about. So, really, there's hardly been »

London, Apr 12: Adele has become Britain's richest young musician as the singer's fortune tripled in the past year to 20 million pounds after huge sales of her album, '21'.
The 'Rolling in the Deep' hitmaker surpasses Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Katie Melua and Joss Stone as the wealthiest pop star under 30 in the UK.
"Adele's been the success story of the past year by a mile. You only get an Adele once every ten years. It's success on a ginormous scale," the Sun quoted Steve Redmond, of the Entertainment Retailers Association as saying.
But 'Harry Potter' actor Daniel Radcliffe, 22, tops the Sunday Times overall list for youngsters. He's worth 54 million pounds after starring in blockbuster 'The Woman in Black'.

SuperHeavy have revealed that they want to play their first gig in a small venue. The supergroup - formed by Mick Jagger and also consisting of Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Damian Marley and Ar Rahman - were asked to perform at the London 2012 Olympics. However, the band declined the opportunity as they would prefer to make their live debut in a more intimate setting. Stewart told Examiner.com: "We always talk about making it, well, not a secret gig, but just a small place in New York or something like that. "We haven't set anything. We went through a million different ramifications. Everybody wants to do something. Everybody's busy doing things, but we can all regroup at one point. It's a mixture of five (more) »

Season 11 of American Idol kicked off with a reminder that, like East German Olympic speed-skaters of the 1970s, this year’s crop of contestants has been groomed for singing-competition glory with scientific rigor and a singular focus. They’ve been listening to renditions of “A Moment Like This” and “Flying Without Wings” from inside their mothers’ wombs. They executed their first Whitney Houston-style runs before the age of three. And if they’re not up to following in Scotty McCreery’s footsteps, then by golly, at the very least they can ably replace Ryan Seacrest — at half the cost »

It seems like only yesterday Scotty McCreery was named “American Idol,” but it’s that time again. Tonight, Savannah was the city that kicked it all off when part one of the premiere of the 11th season aired.
And just like last year, the judging team of Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez didn’t hold back with the wanna-be-Idols – 10,000 of them lined the streets hoping for a shot. »
