Claire Denis is currently filming her highly anticipated, very ambitious sci-fi “High Life” starring Robert Pattinson, but while we wait, she has something else to share. Earlier this year, the revered filmmaker knocked out “Bright Sunshine In,” and within a matter of months, had it ready in time for the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. Now it’s starting to roll out around the globe, and the first trailer has landed.

Although our focus on Claire Denis veers towards her about-to-shoot sci-fi picture High Life, I can’t wait for Bright Sunshine In, a Juliette Binoche-led romantic comedy (?!) that she’s said to have quickly assembled when the Robert Pattinson vehicle didn’t initially take off as planned. Rather than some tossed-off bit of business, though, we’ve apparently been handed one of 2017’s clear highlights. Not that we expected something less.
There’s now a trailer (subtitle-free; we’ll update if they come in) for Bright Sunshine In, which Sundance Selects will release in the U.S. In the meantime: have at our review from Cannes, where we said, “Claire Denis may not be the first Francophone auteur expected to turn in a romantic comedy, and her latest will disappoint those expecting Nancy Meyers a Paris. However, Let the Sunshine In (Un Beau Soleil Interieur) is a sophisticated, »

One of the most unexpected breakouts at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was Danielle MacDonald for playing Patricia Dombroski — aka Patti Cake$ — a 23-year-old, heavy-set Jersey girl with dreams of rap stardom. MacDonald carries the film not only with her acting, but her hip hop performances. There was just one problem that the Australian actress faced: She had never rapped before in her life.

“I just wanted an actress first,” said writer-director Jasper in an interview for IndieWire’s Filmmaker Toolkit podcast this week. “We decided to cast an actress over a musician just because there are so many heavy scenes, there’s comedic scenes, there’s dramatic scenes, she had to do some much – she had to carry the film, she’s in every single scene.”

Image Source: Getty / Jon Kopaloff Robert Pattinson and Fka Twigs have been going strong for three years now, but as of late, the couple have been plagued by split rumors. It all began in July when Howard Stern asked Rob if he and Twigs are still engaged, and he replied, "Yeah, kind of." Shortly after, Rob was spotted having dinner with pal Katy Perry and Twigs was photographed hanging out with French model Brieuc Breitenstein in Spain. While neither Rob nor Twigs has publicly addressed any of the reports, it's also worth noting that the last time these two hit a red carpet together was in February at The Lost City of Z's premiere in London. However, a source recently told People that Rob and Twigs are "definitely still together." We're not entirely sure what is going on here, so we'll let you be the judge. RelatedThe Cutest Pictures »

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may have ended their relationship, but it seems that the two are still pretty close. Over the weekend, the exes, who split in February after a year of dating, were spotted zooming on a motorcycle towards Ed Sheeran's concert at the Staples Center in La; Katy held on to Orlando as they made their way to the venue and were all smiles after the show. Katy's reunion with Orlando comes just a week after she was photographed having dinner with close friend Robert Pattinson. Their night out led to romance rumors, which were stoked even further after Robert's "kind of" fiancée Fka Twigs was snapped getting cozy with a male model in Ibiza days later. Robert Pattinson and Fka Twigs are reportedly doing just fine after the 29-year-old singer was spotted spending time with French model Brieuc Breitenstein while vacationing in Ibiza, Spain, last week. People reported on Monday that Rob and Twigs are "definitely still together" despite Twigs being photographed getting kind of close with the model while taking in the scenery (Brieuc appeared to be nuzzling into her hair). Later that evening, they were seen walking side by side in matching all-white outfits. Meanwhile, Rob added to the split rumors when he was snapped having dinner with close friend Katy Perry in La earlier in the week; the insider told People that Rob and Katy are "just friends," and "super cuddly always." Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart‘s post-“Twilight” trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable. It would have been so easy for these two megastars to follow up their vampire days with Hollywood pay dirt. The industry was ready to give them what they wanted, star-driven vehicles were in the waiting, but they chose to go a different route. Stewart’s been on a roll lately starring in art-house hits that have all but erased our memories of her as Bella Swan.

Despite recent photos of the 29-year-old English singer touring Ibiza with French male model Brieuc Breitenstein, a source tells People that the couple are “definitely still together.”
Twigs (née Tahliah Debrett Barnett) has been dating Pattinson, 31, since 2014. In late July, the actor made headlines when he told Howard Stern that they are “kind of” engaged after he proposed to the singer in early 2015.
When asked by GQ if he was getting married in an interview for the September cover, Pattinson responded with a noncommittal “eh.”

In their feature films, directors Josh and Ben Safdie have always walked a fine line between fact and fiction. Not quite documentaries and not quite traditional narratives, their work takes on an air of alarming spontaneity, threatening to jump off the screen at you. Between Daddy Longlegs and Heaven Knows What, the Safdies captured a gorgeously grainy snapshot of their home city of New York, both painfully truthful and deeply impacting.
Their latest, Good Time, returns to New York City, this time bringing a pulp edge to their naturalistic aesthetic. After a botched bank robbery lands his brother Nick (Ben Safdie) in jail, Constantine (Robert Pattinson) is forced out of Queens into the city to bring his brother home, at any cost.
Our review describes Good Time as “in parts a heist movie (iconic masks included) and a chase movie, but not an homage in any sense — more an evolution, »

Good Time, 2017.
Written and Directed by Josh and Benny Safdie
A bank robber finds himself unable to evade those who are looking for him.
Sometimes, rooting for the bad guy is fun. Let’s face it, we have all done it before. Even as a society, we are drawn towards mainstream headlines or media coverage regarding illegal activities. Presumably, it’s to vicariously live through that adrenaline as a method of escaping daily, mundane routines. However, the best crime thrillers are the ones that can concurrently provide an audience mixed feelings on a front and center criminal.
Enter Good Time and Robert Pattinson’s (who continues to deliver phenomenal work across the independent scene, giving a career-best performance here) Connie; a once again free man who decides to take his mentally challenged brother Nick (played by Benny Safdie, »
