Kevin Moore(VI)
- Composer
A musician who has held residencies as diverse as Los Angeles,
California and Istanbul, Turkey, Kevin Moore achieved success in the
early 90s with the highly recognized progressive metal band Dream
Theater. However, in 1994 out of a desire for musical independence, he
left the group, appearing once again on the group Fates Warning's 1997
album "A Pleasant Shade of Gray", credited as the keyboardist. A year
later, Moore released an album titled "Dead Air for Radios" with the
rhythm section of Fates Warning under the name "Chroma Key". He has
since released a second album titled "You Go Now" and in late 2004 he
released the latest Chroma Key disc "Graveyard Mountain Home". This
third Chroma Key release was inspired by a certain educational film
from the 1950s. The CD comes with a DVD of the film _Age 13_(1955)
where Moore's music is interspersed with the film's original dialogue.
On the solo side, Kevin's also put out a diverse collection of material
into a project called "Memory Hole I" which feature various musicians.
And a film soundtrack for the Turkish horror film _Okul_(2004).
Kevin Moore has gained the respect of musicians from various musical
styles (though some may argue not enough) and has not shown any sign of
stopping.
