She was an 80 year old grandmother who became the second oldest host in Saturday Night Live history by winning the "Anyone Can Host" contest held in 1977. ('Ruth Gordon' was the oldest.) She and four other finalists appeared on the November 19, 1977 show, after which viewers were asked to write in and vote for their favorite. Miskel won the contest and hosted the show on December 17, 1977.
