Rooster Teeth's 'Lazer Team' Begins Production

"Lazer Team," the first feature film from Internet production company Rooster Teeth, began shooting today in Austin, Texas. The lead cast was also confirmed. The film follows four idiots who acquire an advanced power suit intended for the Champion of Earth, a warrior trained by the U.S. government to represent humanity in galactic society. The four pieces of the suit lock to their DNA, forcing them to become the heroes humanity needs. Alan Ritchson, who voiced Raphael in this year's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot and played Gloss in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," will play the Champion of Earth himself. As for the four leads (the titular Lazer Team), Colton Dunn from "Parks and Recreation" will play Herman, with Rooster Teeth personalities Gavin Free and Michael Jones »

The 9th Life of Louis Drax

"Breaking Bad" actor Aaron Paul has signed on to join Jamie Dornan in Alexandre Aja's "The 9th Life of Louis Drax". Aja, Max Minghella, Tim Bricknell and Shawn Williamson will produce.

Based on Liz Jensen's novel and adapted by Minghella, the story centers on a psychologist (Jamie Dornan) who begins studying a young boy after a near-fatal fall. The doctor gets drawn into a complex mystery that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. Aaron Paul will play the boy's father. [Source: Variety]

Elisabeth Moss will join Robert Redford and Cate Blanchett in James Vanderbilt's "Truth," a film about the scandal that followed after reporter Dan Rather claimed George W. Bush received preferential treatment to avoid the Vietnam War draft.

Peter Dinklage is set to star in period crime drama The Thicket, based on Joe Lansdale’s novel. He plays Shorty, a crafty bounty hunter enlisted to find a woman who has been kidnapped by a violent killer at the turn of the 20th century. He and his fellow trackers venture into the deadly no-man’s land known as the Big Thicket, a place where blood and chaos reign. Gianni Nunnari’s Hollywood Gang is producing with Dinklage and the actor’s manager David Ginsberg. Dinklage stars on HBO’s Game Of Thrones and next appears in the comedy features Taxi and Pixels. He is repped by CAA, attorney Karl Austen and Ginsberg.

Actor-writer Colton Dunn (Key & Peele) has been cast opposite Rob Lowe and Rob Riggle in NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot The Pro. Written by  Pete Huyck and Alex Gregory, The Pro centers on former tennis doubles champion “Big Ben” Bertrahm (Lowe), whose career flame-out and misguided investments have left him working as the pro at a tennis and golf club. Dunn will play Lewis, the head engineer and club bookie who fears a change in the status quo when successful and wealthy Bobby Welch (Riggle) arrives as the new tennis pro.
