Godzilla Images From Comic-Con Leaked

31 December 2012 8:05 AM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Back in July at San Diego Comic Con a teaser trailer played to audiences for Monsters director Gareth EdwardsGodzilla.

The footage was supposed to be open to the public, but became hidden somehow.

Meanwhile, the long-anticipated film has actually not begun filming, but two images have made it’s way online and feature some of the destruction that we can expect in the movie, along with a glimpse of the giant monster.

The movie is reportedly deep in pre-production and director Gareth Edwards who has been hard at work ‘mapping out his vision for the movie’ will start shooting the movie in March of next year with aim for a May 16th, 2014 release.

Producer Dan Lin recently pointed out how this will be a ‘grounded, realistic version’ that ponders ‘what would happen if Godzilla came into our world today.’

2014 can’t come soon enough. .. Happy New Year! 2013 is going to be great! »

It's a modern miracle that the Godzilla teaser trailer shown at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con hasn't ended up online in some form or another. That being said, a Godzillal Facebook fan page for the film just published the following image from said teaser.

The image you see below features one lucky to be alive sonovabitch overlooking the damage caused by Big G. It's not much, but it is at least something.

“We’re planning to film in March," said producer Dan Lin in an earlier interview. "We are in deep pre-production. Gareth [Edwards] has really mapped out his vision for the movie; you saw the teaser, but Gareth, thanks to Thomas Tull’s help, he took over a whole stage on the Warner Brothers lot and not only showed the teaser you saw, he had some models built of Godzilla, he had art decorated all over the soundstage, he had pre-vis »

Updates on Acme Looney Tunes Film and Suicide Squad

23 December 2012 9:01 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

A couple of years ago it was announced that Warner Bros. would be making a live-action feature film based on the Looney Tunes Acme Warehouse where Wile E. Coyote got all of the crazy contraptions he used to try and catch his nemesis, Road Runner.

In a recent interview with Collider, producer Dan Lin gave a few little details on what they will be doing with the film, and revealed some info on the lead character.

We're not going to use Looney Tunes in the Acme movie, it's a live action movie. What were so excited about is the lead character is a Steve Jobs meets Dean Cameron kind of character and because it's Acme you can create some incredibly funny, wacky inventions that you can't do on any other movie. So naturally it's just a super imaginative movie.

He also explained that they are heavily inspired by Wile E. »

Producer Dan Lin provides an update on the Suicide Squad movie

21 December 2012 1:35 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Following the runaway success of Marvel's The Avengers earlier this year, rival studio Warner Bros. is becoming increasingly keen to exploit its roster of DC Comics characters by developing a superhero team-up of its own. Over the past few months, much of the talk has centred on Warner's proposed Justice League movie, which is said to be looking at a 2015 release where it will go head-to-head with The Avengers 2, while Guillermo del Toro has also spoken about his desire to bring the supernatural characters of the DC Universe to the screen with an adaptation of Justice League Dark entitled Heaven Sent.

However, one potential ensemble movie that looks to be on hold for the foreseeable future is that of Suicide Squad, with producer Dan Lin (Gangster Squad) providing Collider with a brief update on the adaptation, which has been in development at WB for the past couple of years: »

‘Godzilla’ Producer Gives Update on Reboot

Crushing and stomping its way through Tokyo, the King of the Monsters was unrelenting in its destructive path. That isn’t so much the case now, as this juggernaut seems to be quite stoppable. A word that is unfamiliar to Godzilla.

Producer Dan Lin Updates On Suicide Squad Movie

20 December 2012 1:26 PM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

We haven't had an update on the Suicide Squad adaptation in a while - aside from being reassured that it was definitely on the cards. But now while speaking to Collider, Dan Lin also reveals that there is a script, but we shouldn't expect to see the movie until WB are done with their major characters. “[Suicide Squad] has a script from Justin Marks," says Lin. "But that is on a hold right now. I think Warner Brothers wants to finish their A-list stories first and then we’ll talk about stories like Suicide Squad.” So yeah, don't hold your breath! If and when it does happen though, which team members do you guys think will make the cut? There have been several incarnations of the team over the years, but several members have remained pretty much mainstays, and I would certainly be surprised if they didn't use them - Rick »
