Friends!
The masterminds behind Thanks for Dying are screening the feature film this Thursday, open to the public for just $5!
The evening is intended as a fundraiser for the film; we are sending it on a worldwide tour of film festivals. All donations will go toward the kickstarter campaign that producer Laurence Braun and director R.J. McFarlane are spearheading to promote the film.

I had a ton of fun working on the project, creating my character “Chet” alongside all of the other Lord Dynamite (Spontaneous Productions) improvisors. We improvised all of the dialogue, and I love how it turned out.

Ladies and Your Gentlemen! After an extended sabbatical hunting large game across the Dark Continent, the brave men of Gristle have returned. They will perform a show that will dazzle the senses, tomorrow night!
Watch Col. Clayton Froning reenact his bare-chested wrestling of a she-lion! Witness Adm. Thomas M. Christensen perform a most lewd native dance! And, for the first time, Gristle welcomes Lady Eden Malyn to serenade you to the Brink Of Tears – but no further.

Jeff Addiss has written a new farce, entitled Little Coward. He and co-producer Will Matthews are staging a live reading next Thursday, and I am excited to play one of the roles.
The reading is open to the public, and should be a very fun night of semi-formal frivolity, with wine & mingling galore.
Please R.S.V.P. on the Facebook event page

Last night, we expected to see this guy on ABC’s “Don’t Trust the B—– in Apartment 23” as the Pear Vendor. Alas, they rearranged the episodes. “The Scarlet Neighbor,” originally slated to be the 5th episode, did not air. Hopefully we will see it on the schedule soon!
Thanks for tuning in and for all of your continued support.
Cheers!

On our honeymoon, we traveled to the seaside town of Minori, Italy. The Amalfi Coast happens to be the lemon capital of the universe. While hiding from the rain in a bar, we chatted up the owner in English and his wife in Italian, and their patrons whom Casey suspects to be the local mafia representatives.
Anyway, the owner’s wife let us try (and then wrote down) her fantastic
Homemade Limoncello Recipe
8-10 Yellow-Green Lemons* 1 Liter of Pure Grain Alcohol (95%) 750 Grams of Sugar 1.1 Liters of Water * The lemons are key! Only use lemons from the second flowering of the season. This happens in September on the Amalfi Coast. Pick them before they are fully yellow, with some green still remaining in the rind.
Step 1: Wash and dry the lemons. Remove the yellow-green peel with a peeler or grater. You only want the yellow-green rind, not the fruit or the white part. »

There’s a new(?) website to promote improv teams at http://la.improvteams.com. It’s pretty slick, and I hope it does well.
You can see my profile, which I will try to keep up-to-date, here: http://la.improvteams.com/performers/3603/tomchristensen
Of course, your best bet for an accurate calendar/profile is always Tom-Christensen.com! »

Tinnitus with Tenacious D from Bob Odenkirk
The promo video I shot with The D premiered on RollingStone.com, but now lives on Funny or Die! »

I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to work with Jack Black and Kyle Gass on the promo video for Tenacious D’s upcoming album, “Rize of the Fenix.”

The sketch was written by Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show) who also plays the doctor in the video. Katy Foley and I are visible as a couple of researchers, experimenting on fellow iO West improvisers Mort Burke and Amy Phillips.
It was a pleasure to meet and chat up the kind soul that is John Ennis (Mr. Show), and walking legend Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, and Ozzy Osbourne’s band). »

Hey everyone!
Tune in to ABC on Wednesday, May 9th to see a great little piece of comedy.
I’m looking forward to seeing my juicy co-star, alongside series stars Krysten Ritter and Dreama Walker, as they look for a man in the NY farmers market.

Congratulations to Shon LeBlanc for Best Costume Design and Wayne Moore for Best Musical Direction!
The entire cast & crew of I Love Lucy® Live on Stage is proud of you both for all your hard work and much deserved recognition.
The awards are a celebration of local, 99-seat productions. Everyone who was there last night enjoyed a spectacularly written show in and of itself, so congrats to the awards show production staff as well! »

Leads Krysten Ritter and Dreama Walker may be slightly more invested in the show’s success than I am, but we are all thrilled for the upcoming premier of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23!
Keep your eye peeled for episode #105, in which I play the Pear Vendor. I’m going to guess that it will air May 9th? Still suffering Ptsd from the farmers market scene…
Hats off to fellow improviser Mookie Blaiklock for his series regularness! »

In addition to the upcoming Los Angeles production, a separate I Love Lucy® Live on Stage is going up in Chicago this year! The Nederlander’s Broadway Playhouse had an opening in the schedule, so the musical will run from September 12th through November 11th.
I’m excited for the producers and for their successes with Lucy everywhere. They are well on their way to an eventual U.S. tour.
The cast in Chicago will likely be new, local, and very talented. Actors: keep your eyes peeled for upcoming casting notices.
Stay tuned for news regarding the Los Angeles production, currently in negotiations.

This week will be the last at Greenway Court Theater for I Love Lucy Live on Stage! The 109-show run has been amazing fun, but it’s time for us to move on to a bigger venue.
It’s hard to believe we started rehearsals over 6 months ago. The show has been such a big part of all of our lives, it’s going to be strange having free nights again in March.
Stay tuned to ilovelucylive.com for the details, and you’ll probably find out where we are headed before I do! »

Tonight is the 100th performance of I Love Lucy Live on Stage! This beats my previous longest run (Mask & Wig 2000-2003) by about 70 shows. Lucy will close next weekend on February 26th with a whopping 109 performances.
Fret not, friend! Those of you who missed the first production (or want to see it again) will be delighted to know that the producers are looking for a new venue to put up a bigger, better version of Lucy. For up-to-date details, head to the I Love Lucy Live on Stage website. »

SAG & AFTRA are officially moving to merge. Ballots are on their way for members to vote. I am a pro-merger actor for a variety of reasons, but we should all be aware of the realistic effects of the merger.
Having read the merger documents, these are the takeaways of how the SAG-aftra will actually affect actors:
The budgets will be combined, so…no cost savings. (Merger Agreement, Xii, A) Initiation fees will be $3,000 for 3 years following the merger (Merger Agreement, Xii, B) Annual dues will be $198 for the 3 years following the merger, so…no cost savings (Merger Agreement, Xii, C) Dues will increase 2% per year (Merger Agreement, Xii, C) Work dues will be 1.575% up to $500k (Merger Agreement, Xii, D, 1) Membership eligibility stays the same: open to all principal actors in union projects, and background after 3 union days (Constitution, III, A, 1, a) A strike vote requires 75% approval of those affected by the strike (Constitution, »
