Something Sinister Stranded in Space

4 April 2012 11:46 AM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

It's been a long, long time since last we heard anything from Battlefield: Earth director Roger Christian (who's now in post on 13 Eerie), but he's back with a new project in orbit. Read on!

ShadowLocked recently caught up with Christian, who revealed the following about his next project, Stranded, which follows four isolated astronauts on board a bio-dome spacecraft who experience a ghostly intercession after a meteor storm, leading to paranoia, fear and death.

"[It's] quite scary. We don't have a creature," he explains. "Our alien entity, which it is, is born on board. This woman gets pregnant and gives birth in a few days. It's one of those weird things that happens very fast. The thing that's on board imitates one of the crew members and takes him over... Our familiar character becomes the monster."

Roger Christian talks zombies, Prometheus & Battlefield Earth

Additionally Alien art director Christian holds many of the secrets of Ridley Scott's much anticipated Prometheus 'Alien prequel', and he and I did at least get to discuss the recent trailers, the potential of a trilogy that goes off in an unexpected direction, and how Ridley Scott might be reliving the executive-strewn nightmare of 1978 in far happier circumstances, with a great deal more experience and power.

As usual, I'm moaning about the lack of xenomorphs.

Additionally the ever-busy Christian has just finished zombie movie 13 Eerie, and among a slate of financed projects he is »
