They performed at John Kerry campaign events in advance of the 2004 U.S. presidential election.
Members are David Grohl (lead vocals and guitar), Nate Mendel (bass guitar), Chris Shiflett (guitar, background vocals), and Taylor Hawkins (drums, percussion, vocals). Former members are Pat Smear (guitar), William Goldsmith (drums, percussion), and Franz Stahl (guitar).

As a part of their tour for promoting the last album "Echoes, Silence, Patience, Grace" Foo Fighters played two sold-out shows in the new Wembley Stadium in London. (06-06-08 and 07-06-08). The second show saw a big surprise as Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin joined the band. They performed Zeppelins classics "Rock'n'Roll" and "Ramble On" together. [June 2008]
