Although Blacklock's debut on Broadway was at Caroline's on January 16th, 2006, she is by no means a stranger to the comedy scene. Kim Blacklock was in New York's Funniest Women Show in 1997, having played such classic venues as Stand-Up New York, The New York Comedy Club, and even The Legends BBQ out by the prison in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Blacklock began her career using the stage name of Kim Atoa, her Samoan family's surname, as an on-air radio DJ for KBAC-FM in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and for her 1995 debut at La Jolla Comedy Store in San Diego, California. She began film & TV work in 1990 & became a member of the Screen Actor's Guild in 1991.
