Exclusive Interview with Director Misti Boland for Web Series ‘Red Bird’

Westerns are all hell bent on revenge.

Web series Red Bird follows a woman, Kitty Mae, as she roams the countryside for her son’s killers.

The eight-episode short series is created by husband and wife team Misti Boland and Jeremy Osbern. The series stars Alexandra Goodman, Ian Stark, Alexis Michelle Bartkoski, Michael McShane and Armin Shimerman.

Latino-Review caught up with director Misti Boland last month in Downtown Los Angeles during WonderCon 2016.

Slamdance Selects Jury Members for 21st Annual Film Festival

Festival also unveils finalists for brand new micro-shorts competition

Slamdance Film Festival has selected the documentary, narrative and shorts competition jury members for its upcoming 21st anniversary festival, running in Park City, Utah, from Jan. 23 to Jan. 29.

Narrative feature jury members including filmmaker Todd Looby, trinidad+tobago film festival Creative Director Emilie Upczak, and Kino Lorber CEO Richard Lorber. Documentary jury members are producer-director Josh Leake and filmmakers Paige Williams and Bryan Storkel.

Slamdance Film Festival Selects Jury Members (Exclusive)

The 21st Slamdance Film Festival has selected jury members for its documentary, narrative and shorts competitions at the festival, which runs Jan. 23-29.

Narrative feature jury members: Richard Lorber, CEO of Kino Lorber; Todd Looby and Emily Upzcak. Documentary just members are Paige Williams, Josh Leake and Bryan Storkel.

Narrative and animation shorts jury members are Sarah Cornell, Rory Haines and Elle Schneider. Experimental and anarchy shorts jury members: Eve Cohen, Laura Merians and Dan Brawley.

Members for the micro short films competitition are Amber Benson (actress, “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and writer, “The Witches of Echo Park”), Todd Berger (director, ” It’s A Disaster”), Laura Merians (cinematographer for “Björk,” “Atoms For Peace”), Kent Osborne (writer, “Adventure Time,” “Spongebob Squarepants”) and Damon Russell (producer, “Curfew” and director, “Snow On Tha Bluff”).

The fest, which takes place at the Treasure Mountain Inn in Park City, will include 13 world premieres, two North American premieres and three U.
