Synopsis: Tim Lippe (Helms) was the guy people always thought would go places but then he just … didn’t. He’s been living in über-sleepy Brown Valley, Wisconsin his whole life, still “pre-engaged” to his 7th grade teacher Millie Vanderhei (Weaver), while selling insurance to protect other people’s dreams. But now, Tim’s stalled life is about to get a kick-start because, for the first time in his 34 years, he’s headed to a “major” metropolis – Cedar Rapids, »

Watch: Ed Helms & John C. Reilly Nearly Nude In Funny New 'Cedar Rapids' Trailer

23 December 2010 8:24 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

What happens in Cedar Rapids stays in Cedar Rapids? Who knew this city in Iowa could be such the hopping time.

'The Hangover' star Ed Helms gets his first major lead role in the upcoming comedy 'Cedar Rapids,' the tale of a small town insurance salesman who heads to a mid-level convention in Cedar Rapids -- and begins the party weekend of his life. It looks like a fun, wild time, and definitely worth checking out.

In fact, it's got a pretty good cast -- Sigourney Weaver, Anne Heche, Stephen Root, Kurtwood Smith, Alia Shawkat (Maeby from 'Arrested Development'), Mike O'Malley, Rob Corddry and Seth Morris also co-star.

Think of it as 'The Hangover,' Midwest style. In a good way.

‘Cedar Rapids’ Trailer

The first big film Ed Helms booked after the success of The Hangover was Cedar Rapids, in which he plays a naive smalltown insurance guy who is sent to the 'big city' of Cedar Rapids to represent his company at a convention. Probability of wacky hijinks: very high. Now there's a trailer, which you can see after the break. Apple [1] has the trailer in HD. Miguel Arteta directed Cedar Rapids, which stars Ed Helms, John C. First Trailer and Poster for Cedar Rapids

22 December 2010 4:25 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for director Miguel Arteta's (Youth in Revolt) Cedar Rapids.  Premiering at next month's Sundance Film Festival and getting released nationally February 11, the film is loaded with an all star cast featuring Ed Helms, John C. Reilly, Sigourney Weaver, Anne Heche, Stephen Root, Kurtwood Smith, Alia Shawkat, Mike O'Malley, Rob Corddry, and Seth Morris. While the premise of a small-town Wisconsin man who travels to the big city to represent his company at a regional insurance conference is nothing groundbreaking, I thought Youth in Revolt was very underrated and think Arteta is a director to watch.  Also, the trailer for Cedar Rapids has a line that absolutely killed me.  I won't spoil it for you...but if you're a fan of HBO's The Wire, you will laugh out loud at the end of the trailer.  It's an awesome moment - especially because of who is saying it. »
