Actor Prashanth to star in Ram Charan Teja's next?

Directed by Sukumar, this film will have the star in a new get-up. Samantha plays the female lead in Rangasthalam which will hit the silver screens next month. With the film in final stages, reports are that Ram Charan is getting ready for his next. To be directed by Boyapati Srinu, this is touted to be a family entertainer. Going by the reports doing rounds, Tamil star Prashanth is in talks to play Ram Charan’s older brother in the movie and Naveen Chandra as his younger brother. The director is busy preparing to get this film into the shooting mode and is assembling his star cast and crew. Details about the rest of the stars in the cast will be revealed only after the prep work is completed. Prashanth, well known for his role in the Shankar directorial Jeans will have a meaty role to play in the film and his inclusion in the star cast will be announced officially soon. The actor is not new to the Telugu film industry as he had starred in quite a few Tollywood movies. His first film in Telugu was Prema Shikharam and he had acted in Laati, Tholi Muddhu, very early in his career. While he is yet to ink the deal to star in Ram Charan’s film, the actor is expecting the release of his Tamil film Johnny which is being directed by Vetriselvan. The film is bankrolled by Prashanth’s father Thiagarajan under his banner Staar Movies and is a remake of Johnny Gaddar, a neo-noir thriller film that was written and directed by Sriram Raghavan. Actor Darshan Kumaar who will next be seen in A Gentleman has a regret

Darshan Kumaar, who was last seen in Mary Kom and NH10 will now be seen playing parallel lead in A Gentleman, which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez.

As exciting as being a part of A Gentleman is, the young actor does admit that this film made him regret that he missed out on another dream role. Kumaar was not able to do Sriram Raghvan’s upcoming film as parallel lead opposite Tabu. He says, “Tabu is my favourite actress and Sriram Raghavan is my favourite director but I had given dates to Gentleman at that time and because of the dates shuffling I missed the opportunity”.

Short film platform Humara set to move into feature-length production

Exclusive/Film Bazaar: Mumbai-based production company slates Reincarnation as its first feature film.

Mumbai-based short film platform HumaraMovie is set to move into production of feature-length films starting with drama Reincarnation, written and directed by Gaurav Bakshi [pictured].

Based on Bakshi’s 2012 short film of the same name, the project tells the story of an old man who becomes famous when his fellow villagers believe him to be the reincarnation of Mahatma Gandhi.

In addition to making short films, Bakshi previously worked as an assistant director on films including Love Khichdi, Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye! and Ishqiya. He is currently in talks with cast for his debut feature, which is scheduled to start shooting in early 2017.

HumaraMovie head of operations Abhishek Gautam is attending Film Bazaar to find co-producers for the film.

Sriram Raghavan to adapt the book Gone With The Bullet into a film

After the success of Badlapur, we hear that filmmaker Sriram Raghavan is completely immersed into adapting the book 'The Accidental Apprentice' into a film. Though the details of that film are still unannounced, the director has decided to go ahead and adapt yet another novel into a film. Script writer turned author Sheeja Jose's novel 'Gone With The Bullet' will now turn into a Bollywood film directed by Sriram Raghavan.

The novel that deals with an unconventional story of an 18 year old and her love for a 40 year old was initially a script that was presented to Sujoy Ghosh. According to Sheeja, when the deal with Sujoy fell through, she decided to make it into a book. The author also further revealed that the book is inspired from several true incidents but is presented in a fictional manner.
