The picture, according to Deadline, is a coming-of-age drama set in 1962, when the United States was dealing with the political tensions and social fears generated by the Cuban Missile Crisis. Fuhrman will play one of two teenage girls who embark on a cross-country journey in search of Eleanor Roosevelt. The trade doesn.t elaborate on what they are hoping to accomplish if and when they find the former First Lady. That.s one of the many twists that await us once Dear Eleanor makes its way to theaters. Tarzan, Starring Alexander Skarsgard, Gets The Brakes Thrown On By Warner Bros.

10 April 2013 2:15 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Over the last few years we've seen a few big blockbuster projects get shut down due to studio budget concerns. Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger was able to find its way out of trouble when it shrunk its costs from $250 million to $215 million, but other films, like Alex Proyas' Paradise Lost, Jaume Collet-Serra's Akira, and David Dobkin's Arthur & Lancelot, weren't so lucky. So it will be interesting to see which side of history David Yates' Tarzan falls on. According to Deadline, the vine-swinging adventure film is the latest project to get the brakes thrown on by Warner Bros., with the studio concerned about the film's budget, casting, and ability to shoot this year. In addition to having the Harry Potter filmmaker on-board, it was previously reported that has been attached to play the eponymous jungle man, while there have been strong rumors that Jessica Chastain would be playing his Jane. »

John Ottman is Going to Score ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and ‘Non-Stop’

1 April 2013 3:44 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

It should come as no surprise that director Bryan Singer has chosen John Ottman to compose the score for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The duo have collaborated on many films including X2 and The Usual Suspects. Ottman also served as editor on those films and, according to IMDb, is doing the same on Days of Future Past.

In other Ottman news, the multi-hyphenate will also be providing the score for Non-Stop starring Liam Neeson.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra the flick follows Neeson as “a federal air marshal who starts receiving text messages from someone claiming to be on the same flight, and who is threatening to kill its passengers.”

Joel Kinnaman Cast in Run All Night with Liam Neeson

12 March 2013 1:00 AM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Robocop remake and The Killing star Joel Kinnaman has been cast to star alongside Liam Neeson in the action-thriller Run All Night

Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown, House of Wax, Orphan) is directing the film, and Neeson plays a mob hitman in the story who must take on his former boss in a single night in order to protect his wife and son. He then winds up on the run from the mob and the authorities with his estranged son. Kinnaman would play the son of Neeson's character, a chauffeur who witnesses a murder and needs to be eliminated.

This sounds like it's going to be your typical Liam Neeson action thriller, hopefully it ends up being an entertaining flick! It's cool to see Kinnaman landing these solid movie roles, I think he's a great actor, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles Robocop!

Joel Kinnaman Joins Liam Neeson In All Nighter

11 March 2013 5:25 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Joel Kinnaman, who broke out with AMC’s The Killing and is looking to propel his fame with the upcoming RoboCop reboot, which has some seriously negative buzz surrounding it, is joining the upcoming action thriller All Nighter.

Set to star Liam Neeson, the film will be helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Neeson in Unknown and is working with the actor again on Non-Stop. The story, unfortunately, sounds a bit flat and almost identical to several other films starring the newly found action star. Neeson will play ”a mob hitman who has to take on his boss, protect his family and go on the run from the authorities with his estranged son, all in a single night.” Seems like pretty run of the mill work for the actor, right?

To me, this just sounds like more mindless crap that will probably follow in the same vein as the dreadful Taken 2. »

DreamWorks Planning Robin Hood Reimagining Merry Men; Scott Waugh to Direct

1 March 2013 8:59 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

DreamWorks is getting into reimagining-legends business.  According to Deadline, the studio has closed mid-six figure against seven figure deal for the Robin Hood reimagining Merry Men with Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) attached to direct.  Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace) wrote the script, which will reportedly be "an ensemble piece centered around the supporting characters Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian and Will Scarlet. There is a high-concept revenge angle that tonally is reminiscent of The Dirty Dozen and Ocean’s Eleven."  I really like the sound of this approach, and I hope they stick to it.  For those who don't know, Ridley Scott's forgettable Robin Hood was originally a script entitled Nottingham, which was a detective story told from the perspective of the Sheriff of Nottingham.  We don't need another Robin Hood story that's too afraid to play with a centuries-old character.
