Doug Pulls Out Of Movie Over 'Sexual Content'

The story of 51-year-old actor Doug Hutchison marrying a beaming teen bride already sounded like a story scripted for the movies, but now it's the other way around. The "Lost" actor, who has been keeping busy with 17-year-old wife Courtney Stodden at the pumpkin patch and pitching their own reality TV show, has pulled out of a film project over concerns regarding his character's appropriateness. To wit: Hutchison was cast as a director who engages in a "strange and scandalous relationship with the teenage pop star he casts," according to the film production company, via RadarOnline.

Given the couple's recent notoriety and booming tabloid popularity, Hutchison nixing potentially creepy press comes as a refreshingly wise decision amidst his wife's overly sexual tweets and questionable Sunday attire.

Still, director Richard O'Sullivan -- who initially called it "perfect casting" -- told the website: "I know it's gonna surprise a lot of people to hear this, »

Courtney Stodden’s husband pulls out of film too similar to life

HollywoodNews.com: ‘Lost’ actor Doug Hutchison apparently doesn’t want people confusing his real life with film as he has reportedly pulled out of a movie that hits a little too close to home.

Hutchison was reportedly cast in ‘The Genesis of Lincoln’ that would have had him playing a director that has a scandalous relationship with a teen pop star, states RadarOnline.com.

“Doug was legitimately concerned about some of the sexual content and how people might not be able to separate who he is as a person from the character he was playing,” director Richard O’Sullivan commented.

Hutchison married Courtney Stodden when she was 16 years old. The two have since been causing a stir with their romance.

Hutchison Drops Out Of Lincoln Film

28 November 2011 12:06 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The Green Mile star Doug Hutchison has dropped out of the movie adaptation of James Harrison Cathey's The Genesis Of Lincoln over concerns about the film's sexual content.

The actor, who hit the headlines earlier this year when he wed teenage singer Courtney Stodden, was set to play a director adapting the book about assassinated U.S. President Abraham Lincoln's life, but he has now quit the project.

Producer/director Richard O'Sullivan tells WENN, "I know it's gonna surprise a lot of people to hear this, but Doug was legitimately concerned about some of the sexual content and how people might not be able to separate who he is as a person from the character he was playing.

"The role in question is that of filmmaker Drey LeBeck, a director who sets out to adapt the infamous Cathey book, who falls into a strange and scandalous relationship with the teenage pop star he casts as Lincoln's mother.

"Initially, it seemed like perfect casting, playing on the parallels. But eventually I think Doug and the character became too intertwined. Doug's a wonderful guy, a brilliant actor, and a terrific creative collaborator. Ultimately though, they're not one and the same. The character at points is not nearly as sympathetic and as likeable as Doug, and this is coming from someone who likes Doug a lot."

O'Sullivan has recast actor Robin Spriggs as LeBeck.

The Genesis of Lincoln is currently in pre-production and is set to start shooting in New York City in early 2012. »

Lindsay Lohan Could Be Cut From Her Own Comeback Story

3 February 2011 5:41 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Don't call it a comeback -- Lindsay Lohan may lose the part in her own comeback story.

Lohan, who as far back as 2009 was in talks to play a thinly veiled version of her troubled starlet self in producer Richard O'Sullivan's film 'One Night With You,' may be in danger of losing the part thanks to her latest troubles, Richard Johnson's Flash reports in The Daily (iPad-only).

The star, who just recently left a three month stint of rehab -- which had troubles and allegations of its own -- was accused on Tuesday night of stealing a necklace from a Los Angeles jewelry store. Though the necklace was later returned by a Lohan associate, she's under investigation by the Lapd, and if they find wrongdoing, she could be headed back to jail -- and out of the film.

More jail time would mean no screen time, »
