The Guardian Returns In New Supergirl Promo

To say that last night’s episode of Supergirl delivered some unexpected moments is quite the understatement. Sure, Kara may not have learned the true identity of Reign, but she did come pretty close. Still, the death of Livewire and the introduction of a new Worldkiller, Purity, are moments we won’t soon forget.

Next week, it looks as though the series may stray away from the Legion of Super-Heroes – at least for the moment – and instead focus on a few other unfolding situations. For starters, we can expect the battle between Morgan Edge and Lena Luthor to continue. Even having been explored sporadically thus far this season, our guess is that this thread will somehow be woven into the greater tapestry before long.

Speaking of which, it appears that Sam will continue to experience a struggle within, as her Reign persona will continue to come and go. In the past,

The Guardian Is Back In New Supergirl Promo Images

Back in season 2, Supergirl writers aimed to spice up James Olsen’s character by having him take up crime-fighting under the guise of Guardian. However, fans didn’t take to the change much and it seems the writers themselves got bored of the development. In season 3, James hasn’t suited up once as the chrome-domed vigilante. Well, at least until now, that is.

In the upcoming eleventh episode, titled “For Good,” Mehcad Brooks’ character will finally step out from behind his desk at CatCo to dish out some justice as Guardian once again. As these new promo images from the outing reveal, he’ll suit up to take on corrupt businessman Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar), who’s been causing trouble in National City since the season premiere.

Arrowverse Midseason Finale Dates And Synopses Revealed

Even though we have what appears to be an awesome crossover in the form of “Crisis on Earth-x” to look forward to next week, the reality of the situation is that the bulk of whatever plots unfolding across each of the Arrowverse‘s individual shows will have to be put on hold for the time being. This doubly builds anticipation for their reprisals, especially when you consider the cliffhangers that both Supergirl and The Flash left us on this week.

Well, expect some major payoff throughout the first full week of December when The CW airs midseason finales for its DC TV shows. First on the block is Supergirl, which will see Samantha finally and reluctantly emerge as this year’s big bad, that being Reign, in the episode appropriately titled, um, “Reign.”

Supergirl: Season Three Ratings

In its first year, the Supergirl TV show was a middling performer on CBS. In its second season, after moving to The CW, it was one of that network's best ratings earners, even though its numbers dropped by well over 50% in both the demo and total audience size. As the "littlest network," The CW's expectations differ, and its younger-skewing audience tends to avail itself of streaming and delayed viewing options more often. In its third season, will this superhero drama continue to soar? Will Supergirl be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. Based on the DC Comics character, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood, Calista Flockhart, Chris Wood, Floriana Lima, and Katie McGrath. The CW action-adventure centers on Kara Zor-El (Benoist), the cousin of Kal-El, i.e. Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). To remain safe from Krypton's

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 2 Review – ‘Triggers’

Martin Carr reviews the second episode of Supergirl season 3…

Things start off light and fluffy in National City this week, as we get momentary flashbacks, a montage of morning couples and a semi-conscious Kara dreaming of her the missing Mon-El. Thankfully events soon take a darker turn as themes of grieving, personal boundaries and rites of passage life lessons combine to ground proceedings.

Within the perimeter of ‘Triggers’ we find a formidable female who more than matches Kara’s physical strength with an advantage all her own. Yael Grobglas brings us one cool customer in the shape of Psi, a psychically fuelled, ice-cold bank robber who taps into personal fears to aid her escape. What this does is add another dimension to the episode as we get to glimpse inside Kara’s head and better than that see it manipulated. These elements bring action sequences alive and overlay more serious

Supergirl Season 3 Review

One episode was provided prior to broadcast.

Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer may recall season 2 premiere “When She Was Bad,” in which our hero sports a particularly bad attitude as she processes the traumatic events of the previous season’s finale. Given the near-destruction of National City in season 2 of Supergirl and the ultimate exile from Earth imposed on Mon-El (Chris Wood), Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) is understandably in a similarly troubling place. It’s quite a change of pace for the bright-eyed Girl of Steel to suddenly find herself at such an emotional crossroads, but that’s precisely where season 3 of The CW series begins.

Much like Arrowverse sister series The Flash, Supergirl received some flack last year for going a bit too dark with its storytelling, despite the introduction of Tyler Hoechlin as a hopeful vision of Superman. So, it’s telling that the showrunners here are
