Exclusive: The fast-rising Colombian producer – in Cannes with Directors’ Fortnight selection Embrace Of The Serpent set to premiere today – is pulling together her follow-up pipeline.

Gallego – a Screen International Future Leader this year – is producing Sister Of Mine (Demonios Tus Ojos) through her Bogota-based Ciudad Lunar alongside Spain’s Carmelita Films and Chapinero Films of Colombia.

Pedro Aguilera directs and produces with Gallego the story of a filmmaker who becomes fascinated by his younger half-sister after he accidentally discovers her on a porn site. Ivana Baquero and Julio Perillan star.

Aguilera has completed early shots and plans to resume principal photography in September in Catalonia.

Gallego reunites with Embrace Of The Serpent director Ciro Guerra on Birds Of Passage (Pajaros de Verano), set to kick off in the first quarter of 2017 in La Guajira Desert in the northern reaches of Colombia.

MTV’s ‘Shannara’ Adds Three to Cast

MTV’s “The Shannara Chronicles” has added three new cast members, Variety has learned.

Brooke Williams will play Catania, a witty and wise Elf who is not only the handmaiden to Amberle (Poppy Drayton) but her trusted best friend in the palace.

Daniel MacPherson will portray Arion, the heir to the Elvin throne. Arion takes himself very seriously and is the opposite of his wilder brother Ander. He has spent his entire life trying to show his father that he is worthy of the crown, and he’s ready to take over, but when his niece Amberle goes missing, his plans become complicated.

Marcus Vanco will appear as Bandon. Feared by his family for his mysterious visions, Bandon is discovered by Wil (Austin Butler) and Amberle starving and chained to a wall. Allanon (Manu Bennett) takes special interest in him, believing his abilities will be integral in saving the Four Lands. »

'Indiana Jones' star John Rhys-Davies joins MTV's 'Shannara'

Shannara, MTV's new fantasy series based on the popular book series from Terry Brooks, has added John Rhys-Davies, best known for The Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones, to its cast. The show, which follows the Shannara family thousands of years after civilization's destruction, has previously cast Ivana Baquero as Eretria, Poppy Drayton as Amberle, Austin Butler as Wil Ohmsford, Manu Bennett as Allanon, and Aaron Jakubenko as Ander. MTV has cast “Lord of the Rings” voice actor and “Indiana Jones” alum John Rhys-Davies on its upcoming fantasy series “Shannara.”

Based on a series of Terry Brooks novels that began in 1977, the fantasy drama is set in our world, but thousands of years after the destruction of civilization. It’s centered on the Shannara family, whose descendants are empowered with ancient magic and whose adventures continuously reshape earth’s future.

MTV Bringing Back ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ After Cancellation

MTV announced that it is bring “America’s Best Dance Crew” back from cancelation.

The competition series will return this summer with six new episodes, the network announced during Saturday’s Television Critics Association press tour.

The series, which is produced by former “American Idol” judge and mentor Randy Jackson, will have new judges. MTV has yet to name them.

Pan's Labyrinth Actress Ivana Baquero Joins MTV's Shannara

The Wrap report that MTV's Shannara TV series has rounded out its cast with Ivana Baquero (Pan's Labyrinth, Gelo, My Other Me), who will play a human character named Eretria. The site describe her as coming "from the wrong side of the tracks, Eretria has been forced to use her beauty and wits to survive." She was raised by thieves known as the Rovers, but then joins Wil Ohmsford (Austin Butler) and Amberle’s (Poppy Drayton) quest to save the Four Lands. Manu Bennett will also star as Allanon. ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ Star Ivana Baquero Joins Cast of MTV’s ‘Shannara’

Ivana Baquero, the Spanish actress who charmed audiences as the plucky child star of Guillermo del Toro’s 2006 fantasy “Pan’s Labyrinth,” has joined the cast of MTV’s fantasy drama “Shannara.”

The series based on the famed novels by Terry Brooks is set to begin lensing next month in New Zealand. “Smallville” alums Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are exec producers and showrunners for Sonar Enteratainment.

Baquero will play Eretria, a human from the wrong side of the tracks who uses her wits to survive amid the struggles and adventures of the magic-endowed Shannara clan. It’s a full-boar fantasy genre vehicle populated by elfs, druids, assorted royal figures and other unusual creatures.

Previously announced cast members include Poppy Drayton, Austin Butler, Manu Bennett and Aaron Jakubenko.

Baquero at present is on screen in the Portuguese drama “Gelo,” and she will be featured in the upcoming Fox Intl. pic “My Other Me. »

Spanish actress Ivana Baquero has landed the last pivotal role in MTV’s upcoming fantasy drama Shannara, TVLine has learned.

Based on the book series by Terry BrooksShannara takes place in a post-apocalyptic world known as the Four Lands. Baquero, who starred in Pan’s Labyrinth, will play Eretria, a lovely young thief who finds herself tagging along on a journey to save that world.
