Born in Moscow, Russia, into the family of world-renowned classical pianist, Vladamir Viardo, Phil has spent most of his youth as a prodigy of classical piano. He has performed in major venues in Russia and the United States and was featured in the media, including both on radio and television for his endeavors. Most notably, Phil was featured in an A&E special titled "The Gifted Ones", hosted by the late George Plimpton. Aside, from music, Phil has also tried his hand at acting and producing. The latter being one of the careers that he still maintains. With more than eight years of experience in public relations, production and business development, and over fourteen years in the entertainment industry, Phil Viardo has worked extensively with companies in all areas of entertainment, technology and new media. His work has ranged from project and product development, event and product promotion to production and distribution.
Aside from an impressive client roster on the PR side, Phil Viardo and TVA are currently also in development on several feature film, television and radio projects including the feature Adam & Steve (2005), starring Parker Posey and Chris Kattan, currently in pre-production. Prior to starting The Viardo Agency, Phil held an executive position at the reputable PR firm of Bender/Helper Impact where he was responsible for running several major accounts including Playboy Entertainment Group, Voice Web Corporation, Dotcomix, Interactive Imagination, PhotoPoint Corporation, and Burtin Productions among others. While there, Mr. Viardo has participated in a number of activities that extended beyond his PR duties including shopping a hot new entertainment property, "Magi-Nation", to major Hollywood studios, packaging a pilot project for television, and supported development of an upcoming television series called "Cyplex". It is these experiences and his love of all facets of the entertainment industry that lead him to launch The Viardo Agency.
Prior to joining Bender/Helper Impact, Phil Viardo was a part of the Rogers & Cowan / Shandwick Convergence and Entertainment team where his efforts included work with such clients as Microsoft New Media Technologies, MedicinePlanet.com, AdoctorInYourHouse.com (with Carnie Wilson), Buzztime.com, and Dr.Drew.com. While at Shandwick, Viardo also spearheaded the publicity for the prestigious iHollywood Forum conferences as well as being involved in such events as the Grammy and ALMA Awards.
Prior to Shandwick/Rogers & Cowan, Viardo was head of development and production for Last Chance Productions Ltd. in New York where he oversaw independent film, video, multimedia and live event production and promotions. He was also a co-founder and director of development at Tachyon Systems L.L.C., a financial software company in Princeton launched by world-renown physicist Alexander "Sasha" Migdal. Viardo's career in technology and communications began when he served as Manager of Marketing and Promotions for MetaCreations Corp., (Nasdaq: MCRE) a renowned visualization and design software company.
Viardo attended Harvard University and Berklee College of Music where he holds an Artistic Diploma in Performance and Production.
