Self-taught filmmaker Ray Arthur Wang (pronounced Wong) is a director/ writer/ producer/ composer.

Raised in Livermore, California and now a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, he was first intrigued by the art of filmmaking at the age of 11. Moved by La Nouvelle Vague (The French New Wave) of the 1950s-60s, RAW's artistic vision is inspired chiefly by the work of Stanley Kubrick, Ingmar Bergman, and Wong Kar-Wai. In 2004, he founded Raw Power Productions, Inc. with one main mission: social change.

No stranger to acclaim, RAW has received accolades for his winning performances in numerous major piano competitions, including a solo performance with full orchestra at the age of 10. He holds a Ph. D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with music minor from UC Berkeley, and the 1999 National Electrical Engineering Honor Society's Most Outstanding EE Student in the Nation Award.

Having traveled to 41 states in the U.S. and 37 countries all over the world, RAW finds his greatest passion in making movies. Bare Bones International Independent Film Festival (one of the Best Truly Independent Film Festivals, Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide) recently declared his feature directorial debut "Carma" Best Picture and Ray Arthur Wang Indie Auteur of the Year. "Wang is a director to watch," claims worldwide film publication Film Threat.

A pioneer in the convergence of Hollywood and the Internet, RAW recently signed a historical distribution deal with FastMovie.tv and Nirvana Woman, the deal having been initiated by friend and frequent collaborator Anand Chandrasekaran. Taken from conception to distribution entirely digitally, the supernatural thriller "Carma" is the first feature film in history distributed exclusively over the Internet via a revolutionary DVD-quality pay-per-view streaming system.

Now, RAW is a producer on award-winning director Michealene Cristini Risley's documentary "Tapestries of Hope," the shocking story about the rape and sexual abuse against thousands of women, particularly baby girls of Zimbabwe, from the team that was invited to the Sundance Producers Conference in August 2006.
