First Iranian filmmaker to ever win an Oscar. He received the award for his internationally critically acclaimed film, A Separation, in the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 84th Academy Awards (2012). He was also nominated for the Best Original Screenplay, but the award went to Woody Allen for Midnight in Paris. See more »
