10 May 2016 7:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Turner Broadcasting’s TruTV has greenlit three new series and a host of specials and development projects as it builds up the volume of original programming.

TruTV has billed itself as a comedy network since its October 2014 rebranding campaign. The channel primarily serves up unscripted series but last year added its first scripted comedy, “Those Who Can’t,” which has been renewed for a second season.

New series include “Jon Glaser Loves Gear,” featuring the actor-comedian exploring various types of gear and gizmos. TruTV has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of the series created by Glaser for production banner Pffr.

“Lifescaping” is described as a mix of sketches, man-on-the-street interviews and other elements designed to be a cheeky version of a self-help series. Matthew Latkiewicz and Abbi Crutchfield are set to host 13 half-hour episodes.

“Greatest Ever” is a pop culture-centric how-to series on topics ranging from weddings to sports to cute animal videos. »

14 March 2016 2:42 PM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

A new streaming service is coming over the summer, when Lionsgate and the people behind Comic-Con join forces to create Cchq!  The result sounds a lot like a former cable TV channel.  Come inside for more details.

For those of you new to the cable scene, there was once a TV channel dedicated to nerds.  It was known as G4.  G4 housed a plethora of amazing shows like the original Japanese Ninja Warrior, X Play, and Attack of the Show.  After some epic years, the channel was cancelled and changed to Esquire, which is still a good channel but anywhere near as great as G4.  Now, it seems like Lionsgate and Comic-con are coming together to form something very similar.

Below is the complete Press Release of the service!
