★★★☆☆ Newly-released on DVD and Blu-ray this week comes Transit (2012), a fast-paced action film from Colombian film director Antonio Negret. Bursting into action with an armoured truck being lured into a $4 million heist, we meet the sinister protagonists at the forefront of the ensuing chase: the poker-faced Marek (James Frain) and the twitchy machete-wielding Losada (Harold Perrineau). The two are accompanied by Marek's big-breasted broad Arielle (Diora Baird) and the peaky-looking Evers (Ryan Donowho).

★★★☆☆ "You said nobody was supposed to die." "I lied", replies the gruff-voice of Marek (James Frain) near the beginning of Antonio Negret's Transit (2012) - he's clearly not a nice man. He's just finished robbing an armoured truck with his angry number two Losada (Harold Perrineau) - he is also not a nice man. Together, they flee the scene with Marek's floozy Arielle (Diora Baird) and their unhinged driver Evers (Ryan Donowho) - you can bet he's not a nice man either.

Just last week, it was announced that Joel Silver's Dark Castle Home Entertainment and Courtney Solomon's After Dark Films were joining forces on a new action movie franchise titled "After Dark Action," which kicks off with five movies to be shown theatrically as a "commercial film festival" before hitting VOD on May 11th. Now, the first trailer for the first of the After Dark Action movies, Transit, has been released online.
Written by Michael Gilvary (According to Greta) and directed by Antonio Negret (Seconds Apart), Transit stars Jim Caviezel (Outlander) as Nate Sidwell, an ex-con attempting to restore his relationship with his family by taking them on a camping trip only to become a pawn in a game of "cops and robbers" with $4 million — and his family's lives — on the line. Diora Baird (30 Days of Night: Dark Days), James Frain (HBO's True Blood), Elisabeth Rohm (Abduction), and Harold Perrineau, »

As this is Easter weekend, it's only appropriate (or possibly wildly inappropriate) to bring you a trailer for a film with Jim Caviezel, a man who once played Jesus (The Passion of the Christ). In the Antonio Negret (Seconds Apart) film, Transit, Caviezel must rise up (sorry) and protect his family from a group of armored car robbers. The premise is based around Caviezel's character, Nate Sidwell, a man just released from prison who is taking his family on vacation and attempting to regain their trust. His plan goes awry when the aforementioned criminals covertly stash their stolen loot atop the Sidwell's car in order to sneak it past a roadblock. Transit, also starring James Frain, Harold Perrineau and Elisabeth Rohm, opens in limited release May 11th. Hit the jump to check out the trailer, which features a great look at the ever-lovely Diora Baird. Check out the UK trailer for Transit, »
