Trivia

Completed school for graphic design in 2003, shortly before landing her role in "Flesh for the Beast", and continued to do freelance design work for a time thereafter. Her credits include freelance web design for musician Buckethead, as well as websites for anime cartoons Samurai Deeper Kyo and Gunparade March, and the first official websites for "Flesh for the Beast" and "Shadow: Dead Riot".

She almost didn't land the role of "Erin Cooper" in "Flesh for the Beast", as the producers thought she looked too young.

Used to sing in punk bands as a teenager.

Has four tattoos-a large butterfly which spans the entirety of her lower back, a death's-head moth on the back of her neck, a small butterfly under her navel and another small butterfly on her inner left ankle-all of which had to be covered up with make-up for the production of "Flesh for the Beast" (2003).

She and "Flesh for the Beast" co-star, Ruby Larocca, were roommates for a time after having met on the set of the film.

Shortly before landing her role in Flesh for the Beast, she began a scream-queen fan site under the pseudonym "Katie Chainsaw" entitled "Katie Chainsaw's House of Horror Hotties". She created the website as a project while still in design school.

Is of German, Russian, and Native American descent.

Is a big fan of Japanese cinema and has expressed interest in working with Takashi Miike (Ichi The Killer, One Missed Call, Audition) someday.

Personal Quotes

Working on it [Flesh for the Beast (2003)] was a lot of fun, but I didn't know quite what I was doing. It was my first major role and I just did the best I could trying to fill the shoes of "Erin" [Misty Mundae]. Some people think I did good in it, and some think I sucked, but I don't let any of the negativity get to me because I think to myself, "Well, this was my first film". I don't think I'm supposed to be "perfect".

I find it so bizarre to think that I have "fans". I've always been very much a tomboy and kind of awkward, so I'm not used to attention like that. So when people write to me and compliment my acting work or tell me they think I'm "sexy" or something, I'm kinda like "...ME? Are you serious? I'm such a dork!"

Where Are They Now

(October 2004) Temporarily "retired" from the biz in order to return to college. She also stopped working in graphic/web design to pursue a career in forensic pathology and criminal justice. She is currently a student at Ohio State University.

(February 2005) Steps back into acting to film "Lily", a zombie film slated for release this summer.

(April 2005) Cast as "Betty" in the upcoming film "Hollywood She-Wolf", to be directed by Garo Nigoghossian.

(May 2005) Completed filming on "Hollywood She-Wolf" and announced that she has officially retired from acting. She currently lives in New York and is an ongoing student of forensic science and criminal justice.

(October 2007) Officially announced that she will be returning to acting some time in 2008 or 2009. But will be no longer acting under 'Jane Scarlet', and she will be using her real name of Jennifer Litsch, and also states that she will no longer be doing excessive nudity in her films.

(July 2007) Gave birth to a baby girl on Friday, July 13th: Maeli Hayden Phoenix Pennell.

(January 2006) Was badly injured in an accident when she was hit by an automobile (she was a pedestrian). She suffered a broken elbow and shoulder, fractured pelvis, and a brain injury. She went through recovery and physical therapy for over a year.

(March 2009) Fully recovered, she is a busy mother and ongoing student in Ohio, although she is slated for several projects this Summer/Fall, and continues to model periodically. She also began creating zombie pin-up fashion dolls she named the "Zombabes", and continues to produce and sell her original artwork.
