Box Office: ‘Despicable Me 3’ Sets $83 Million Heist, ‘Baby Driver’ in Second

Box Office: ‘Despicable Me 3’ Sets $83 Million Heist, ‘Baby Driver’ in Second
Everything seems to be going to Universal’s plan as “Despicable Me 3” eyes an $83 million opening. The fourth film in the Minions universe is expected to easily win Independence Day weekend over fellow new entries, “Baby Driver” and “The House.”

Illumination-Universal’s animated threequel ended Friday with an impressive $29 million from 4,529 theaters, meaning it could end the holiday weekend with as much as $83.5 million. With $4.1 million coming from Thursday night previews alone, if the third “Despicable Me” movie continues on this course, it could open as the sixth highest-grossing domestic project of 2017 — behind “Beauty and the Beast,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” “Wonder Woman,” “Fate of the Furious,” and “Logan.”

Despicable Me 3” stars Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, and franchise newbie Trey Parker (“South Park”) as ’80s-obsessed villain Balthazar Bratt.

Despicable Me 3: Miranda Cosgrove Enjoys Reprising The Role of Margo And Discusses The Process of Voice Acting

  • LRM Online
The most lovable animated villain is back.

Gru and the family returns in the laugh-out-loud family favorite comedy Despicable Me 3 this weekend. Their new adventure doesn’t disappoint.

The family will expand this time with Gru discovering a long-lost twin brother, who is more charming, cheerful and successful. However, this twin brother, Dru, wants to team up with him to perform a criminal heist as a part of family tradition.

Steve Carell is back to voice Gru and the long-lost brother Dru. All the returning characters voice cast are back including Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and Nev Scharrel. New character voices will be Trey Parker as Balthazar Bratt and Jenny Slate as Valerie Da Vinci.

Lrm had a one-on-one interview earlier this month with the lovely Miranda Cosgrove. She voiced Margo since the first Despicible Me movie, which was over ten years ago. She was kind to

Second Opinion – Despicable Me 3 (2017)

Despicable Me 3, 2017.

Directed by Kyle Balda, Pierre Coffin, and Eric Guillon.

Featuring the voice talents of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Trey Parker, Steve Coogan, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Nev Scharrel, Jenny Slate, Julie Andrews, and Russell Brand.

Synopsis:

Gru meets his long-lost charming, cheerful, and more successful twin brother Dru who wants to team up with him for one last criminal heist.

There’s a tender moment in Despicable Me 3 (the latest entry in the franchise from Illumination’s Christopher Meledandri, voice of the mischievously cute Minions and co-director Pierre Coffin, and director Kyle Balda) where Gru (a once again returning Steve Carell) tells his young daughter that “sometimes you expect to find a unicorn but instead get a goat, and that’s life”. Well, much like how goats can actually be adorable, Despicable Me 3 can be another charming burst of fun inside the gadget-infested scene of superheroes and villains.

Review: ‘Despicable Me 3’ Isn’t Genius, But it May Make You Laugh

Full disclosure: I have seen neither Despicable Me nor Despicable Me 2, but the franchise’s third installment kind of makes me want to. Now let me set the record straight: Despicable Me 3 is no crowning achievement in animation. You’re not going to be wondering how they pulled off the effects. You’re certainly not going to break down in tears once the credits roll. Simply put, it probably won’t restore your faith in studio animation. But it may make you laugh.

Unlike so many of its peers, Despicable Me 3 is filled with clever humor that goes — if only a smidgen — deeper than your typical face-value gags and physical body humor that’s so present in a majority of today’s animated films. Steve Carell is mostly to thank for this, starring in the film as both ex-villain turned villain-catching agent, Gru, and quite hilariously,

Despicable Me 3 – Review

So the Cars crew has barely finished a third lap and now another animated franchise is about to join them (or are they in their forth lap?). In 2010 Universal Studios teamed up with a plucky young computer animation company named Illumination to ride the box office tidal wave begun by the folks at Pixar. Their first smash was Despicable Me, a raucous action comedy about an infamous super-villain mellowed when he becomes the foster-father to a trio of orphaned girls. Audiences embraced the title character of Dru and went bananas (that’s what they resemble, after all) over his horde of henchman, the yellow, yammering (nobody knows what their language is) minions. A sequel, Despicable Me 3, followed of course, in 2013 in which Dru got a wife (and the girls got a mom), a super secret agent for good named Lucy. Then in 2015, came a “spin-off prequel” Minions, all about

Film Review: ‘Despicable Me 3’ Reemerges as Despicably Dull

Chicago – This is it. The point where Gru and his Minions went from mildly irritating to excruciating. The series will undoubtedly entertain the children it’s intended for, my twins probably would have liked it if they had been able to come. But pity the poor parents who have to sit through another film full of Minion fart noises… which seems to last for roughly three whole days.

Rating: 1.5/5.0

The movie starts off with Gru (voice of Steve Carrell) and his now wife Lucy (Kristen Wiig) being drummed out of the anti-villains league after letting a super villain named Evil Bratt (Trey Parker) slip through their fingers. Bratt was the child star of an 1980s sitcom who let his mischievous TV alter-ego go to his head after he hit puberty.

Now I happen to love the 80’s, but every joke here is of the worn out seen it a thousand

[Updated] Wonder Woman 2: Patty Jenkins Confirms She’ll Be Back To Direct

  • LRM Online
Updated: Patty Jenkins took to twitter to clarify that it wasn't a confirmation, but hopeful discussion.

Hey All. Thanks for the excitement but that wasn't a confirmation. Just talking about ideas and hopes. But still excited and hopeful ;) #WW2 https://t.co/oaFZcPrRWl

Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) June 30, 2017

Original Story:

Earlier this month, we saw the release of Wonder Woman. The film made a huge splash. Not only was a great movie, but it was the first standalone female superhero film in the current generation of superhero movies. It also managed to help flip the narrative for the Dceu, which up to this point was a bit split in terms of fan and critical reception.

Surprisingly enough, it sounded like Warner Bros. was a bit unprepared for the film’s mammoth success, as they didn’t lock down Patty Jenkins for Wonder Woman 2. To be fair, there was no way of
