Shot in Ontario by Canadian director Neil Mackay, a forest soon becomes a murderous quagmire for six armed robbers. A psychopathic veteran from The Vietnam War is using these woods for live target practice. And soon, Battleground is showing its strengths, action sequences and its weaknesses, a sparse storyline. The zombie warfare continues from Outpost (2008) and Outpost: Black Sun (2012) to Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz. Viewers of the second film, Outpost: Black Sun, might be surprised to hear of a second sequel. After all, the bunker housing zombie Nazi commandos was completely destroyed at the end of the film. However, a couple characters did survive. Now, the action shifts from German shocktroopers to the Spetsnaz, Russia' elite paramilitary group. This third story promises to explore the origins of the zombie epidemic. Now, the first poster for the film is available with some early cast and crew details also showing. Outpost: The Rise of the Spetnaz - the third film in the series - has begun principal photography.  We broke the news of the film's development during our American Film Market coverage last fall.  The film shoots on location in Glasgow and Yorkshire.

Outpost 3 Moving into Production This April

Content announced that the third installment of the Outpost franchise will go into production on April 10th.  The film is set to shoot in the UK.  

Shock was first tipped off about the third film, called Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz last fall.  That's the sales art we spied at the American Film Market you see on the right.

Kieran Parker will direct the script penned by Rae Brunton. The cast includes Bryan Larkin (Battleground) as the lead Russian Dolokhov and James “The Colossus” Thompson - Ultimate Combat World Heavy Weight Champion as The Berserker. More cast will be announced soon.

Even though we still haven't seen hide nor hair of the second film in the Outpost franchise, that hasn't stopped anyone from announcing a third!
