On ‘The President Show,’ Fake Donald Trump Builds a White House Staff

2 August 2017 2:10 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The chances of Anthony Scaramucci and Steve Bannon crossing paths in real life seems pretty slim, given the events of recent days. On Comedy Central’s “President Show,” however, the two are about to come together in a big way.

When the program’s newest episode debuts Thursday night at 11:30 p.m. eastern, Bannon and the now-exiled White House communications director known as “The Mooch” – played by comic actors John Gemberling and Mario Cantone, respectively –  will appear with the show’s version of President Donald Trump, played by host Anthony Atamanuik.

With its conceit of turning the Trump White House into a late-night show hosted by the Commander-in-Chief, “The President Show” could simply play off a never-ending flow of news from Washington. But Atamanuik says he wants the program to make headlines of its own.

“We are ahead of the game, on top of the game and making the game in a real way,” he »

‘Celebrity Family Feud’ Photo Diary: Funny Gals vs. Funny Guys in ‘Most Competitive Game Yet’

21 July 2017 7:39 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Comedians may make you laugh, but don’t underestimate their competitive spirits. On Sunday’s “Celebrity Family Feud,” the Funny Gals take on the Funny Guys, and it’s far more intense than you’d expect.

The Funny Gals team — June Diane Raphael, Andrea Savage, Kristen Schaal, Nicole Byer, and Carla Gallo — and the Funny Guys team — Paul Scheer, John Gemberling, Adam Pally, Eugene Cordero, Horatio Sanz — compete in what has been reportedly been the most competitive match in the history of the show. We say reportedly because that’s what Scheer himself said, and he’s clearly biased. (Editor’s Note: IndieWire is also biased towards Scheer because he conducted one of the best interviews and photo shoots with “BacheloretteRachel Lindsay ever.)

He has a secret life, though: Using a duffel bag he found among his dead father’s belongings, he’s able to time-travel to any era he chooses. Making History Review: Fox's Goofy Sitcom Makes Time Travel Fun Again

28 February 2017 3:49 PM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Time travel is everywhere you look on TV these days — Timeless, Frequency, Legends of Tomorrow, Time After Time — and yet it’s usually of the life-or-death, save-the-world variety. But what if you just want to use your time machine to meet girls and party, man?

That’s the refreshingly lowbrow premise behind Fox’s Making History (premiering Sunday, March 5 at 8:30/7:30c), starring Adam Pally as a modern-day loser who uses a giant duffel bag to travel through time and rearrange past events for his own selfish benefit. Gleefully poking fun at revered historical figures and armed with a supporting cast of alt-comedy all-stars, »

Santa Clarita Diet Has a Broad City Crossover Moment We Didn't See Coming

6 February 2017 12:00 PM, PST | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Image Source: Netflix Santa Clarita Diet premiered on Netflix this weekend, and the campy comedy is not only funny (albeit a little gross), but also stars some pretty solid guest stars. The second episode of the series - titled "We Can't Kill People!" - features a cameo from Broad City actor John Gemberling, who you'll recognize as Abbi Abrams's mooch of a psuedo-roommate, Matt Bevers (technically, Bevers is the boyfriend of Abbi's real roommate, who we never see). On Santa Clarita Diet, Gemberling plays Bunchen, the manager of a comic book store where Sheila (Drew Barrymore)'s daughter Abby (Liv Hewson) visits after ditching school with her next-door neighbor Eric (played by Skyler Gisondo). After repeatedly telling Abby and Eric that they can only read each comic for 30 seconds without buying it, Bunchen flips out and walks over to them, saying, "Thirty seconds, Abby's friend," to which Abby yells, "Abby. »

The Making History Cast Lays Out the Rules of Fox's Time-Travel Comedy

11 January 2017 7:11 PM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Ever want to travel back to colonial times? On Making History, all you have to do is… hop into an old gym bag, apparently.

Fox’s new time-travel comedy — premiering Sunday, March 5 at 8:30/7:30c — stars Happy Endings alum Adam Pally as a slacker who has a magical duffel bag that allows him to travel through time. (His father was a brilliant physicist, you see.) He ends up in Lexington, right before the American Revolution, and uses modern-day song lyrics (and giant hunks of ham) to charm a colonial girl played by Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester.
