Age twenty-four at the time of filming, Patrick O'Brien Demsey was completing an internship with an advertising agency when he chanced upon the auditions for "Miracle." Demsey, a graduate of Fitchburg State College, stopped playing hockey due to injuries and hopes to pursue an acting career.

Lived only twenty minutes from his real-life "Miracle" counterpart, Mike Eruzione.
He saw the audition call for "Miracle" while looking for acting courses online. He had just decided that day to look into acting and caught the call the day before auditions ended.
In preparation for "Miracle," skated with the team Mike Eruzione now coaches.
Graduated from Danvers High School in 1997.
Relocated to Sherman Oaks, California to pursue an acting career.
Has an older brother named Chris and a younger brother named Mike.

Learned he won the part of Mike Eruzione in "Miracle" 2 days after his 24th birthday.
Wore a number 14 jersey during his hockey days because it was his birthdate and he liked how Eruzione's number was 21 because it was also a multiple of 7, like 14.
Turned down a role in "Big Bad Wolf" 2005.
Took General Psychology at Fitchburg State College with Dr. Beck, along with Patrick Brown. Patrick Brown was a freshman at the time, and had a number of conversations with Demsey, including the stuff he dreamed about.
