Spider-Man Musical Accidents, Brittany Murphy And Winter Weather In Today's Twitter-Wood

21 December 2010 2:03 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Accidents abounded today as news of a mishap at the Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" spread and winter weather caused some mayhem. Tom Felton, for instance, has been having a bad run of driving luck, but it does sound like he's okay.

Yesterday marked a sad anniversary, too, as Rose McGowan noted that it's been one year since Brittany Murphy's death. Her thoughts, as well as a shot of one of our favorite "Twilight" series actresses lending a hand at a Phoenix food bank, have been retweeted after the jump.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for December 21, 2010.

Larry King's Last Show, 'Tron: Legacy,' And 'The Cape' In Today's Twitter-Wood

17 December 2010 2:59 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Larry King made history last night by signing off on his last installment of "Larry King Live," but not everyone watching was a huge fan. Actually, there were a few critical grumbles in the feed today, with Greg Grunberg sounding off about Larry, Greg Mottola calling out the MPAA with a disagreement and Damon Lindelof calling out NBC's "The Cape."

Yesterday also brought one of the great accomplishments in trending hashtag use of 2010, however. Patton Oswalt and Jon Hurwitz led the charge their own picks for "Unfairly Maligned Film Characters," and the rest of Twitter just sort of followed along. Check out the whole archive of those posts on Twitter, as well as a couple of my favorites after the jump.

Golden Globe Nominations, Julian Assange And 'The Fighter' In Today's Twitter-Wood

14 December 2010 2:17 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

You definitely haven't seen Christian Serratos in the "Twilight" series wearing the kind of makeup she put on for a Black Keys video in her feed this week. She and Danny Masterson both sported some new looks and posted pics.

The big trending topic in international news today, though, was WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange getting granted bail in London, where Michael Moore stepped in and got personally involved. His reaction to the situation and a roundup of Golden Globe nomination chatter have been retweeted for you after the jump.

Miley Cyrus Smoking, Elizabeth Edwards' Funeral And 'Lost' Jabs On 'Community' In Today's Twitter-Wood

10 December 2010 2:27 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Elizabeth Edwards showed up in numerous memorial tweets earlier this week, but even more posts surfaced today to express disgust over the Westboro Baptist Church's decision to picket her funeral. The announcement did inspire Michael Ian Black to declare a new item to scratch off of his life's bucket list, though.

In other topics, Denis Leary applauded Miley Cyrus for video of the singer-actress smoking a bong. His commentary, along with Ice-t's reaction to Wesley Snipes going to jail and Damon Lindelof on the "Community" Christmas special's "Lost" jab has been retweeted after the jump.

Update on American Pie 4 - Producers Want to Bring Back the Full Original Cast

1 December 2010 12:01 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Earlier this year it was reported that Universal Pictures hired Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle writers and directors, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, to develop a fourth American Pie film. In a recent interview with producer Craig Perry, it was reveled that the the new American Pie film will not be a reboot or a remake, but it will be an actual sequel to the original trilogy, which will bring the original gang back together again.

Here are Perry's thoughts on the American Pie 4 project, and where it currently stands:

Like anything, if they're going to go back to it, they want to get it right. Hurwitz and Schlossberg, the guys who did ‘Harold and Kumar' are going to direct and I'm hoping to have something to look at it in the New Year. We'll see when that fits in. As you can imagine, »

Familiar Faces to Be Back for ‘American Pie 4’?

30 November 2010 11:28 PM, PST | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Producer Craig Perry discussed some updated plans for “American Pie 4.” The movie is being written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (“Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle”). Perry indicated that it would make sense to bring everyone back for the movie. Perry said, “If you start whittling it down, then it is no longer what it is meant to me. Those characters have become part of the cultural lexicon, and I think there’s an interest in seeing where they are, because they haven’t been on screen in seven years. I think that’s a very effective way of backing into this is having people wonder ‘what did happen to those guys, what did happen to those girls?’” He acknowledged the casting problem is trying to get everyone back due to their busy schedules, such as actress Alyson Hannigan. “Alyson has got the show and the baby, »

Latest news on American Pie 4

30 November 2010 11:01 PM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

The producer of the big-screen revival of the American Pie franchise has been chatting about the new film...

After seemingly hammering the franchise into the ground with four (to date) pretty terrible straight-to-dvd sequels, you'd figure that all and sundry would be standing over the corpse of the American Pie franchise and opting to leave it be. That, however, isn't the case, and as was revealed earlier in the year, a full-on American Pie 4 is planned for cinema release.

The film, which is being written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (who made the first two Harold & Kumar movies), is aiming to reunite the original cast of the first three films. And producer Craig Perry has been chatting to ComingSoon about the progress of the project.

"I'm hoping to have something to look at it in the New Year," he said. "We'll see when that fits in. »

An Update on the Planned American Pie 4

30 November 2010 | Comingsoon.net | See recent Comingsoon.net news »

ComingSoon.net had a chance to talk with the always-ebullient producer Craig Perry earlier today to find out the status of the planned American Pie 4 , which is being written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg ( Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and its sequel), and he gave us an update of the project that's neither a reboot or a remake, but an actual sequel to the hit R-rated comedy trilogy that came out between 1999 and 2003. "Like anything, if they're going to go back to it, they want to get it right," he told us. No matter who they're supporting, most of the faces in the Twitter-Wood feed discussing elections in the U.S. today just want you to get out and vote. Some expressed stronger recommendations, though, such as Sylvester Stallone, who used "The Manchurian Candidate" to help illustrate his point.

In other posts, Snoop Dogg looked like he was having a good time kicking back for his birthday with a few junior football player pals. Snoop, his birthday cake and LeVar Burton with a sticker on his face await you down below.

Roger Clemens has been trending today after news broke yesterday that he'd been indicted on perjury charges. Marlon Wayans commented on the situation, and Jon Hurwitz just wants everybody to remember the baseball player's role in the movie "Kingpin" before they pass judgment.

It was a festive day in Twitter-Wood otherwise. Wes Craven tweeted from the "Scream 4" set. Actually, Hurwitz dedicated an entire tweet to Neil Patrick Harris, which may be indicative of where his heart really lies, but you can be the judge down below.

Obama-Related Traffic Problems, '$#*! My Dad Says' And 'Scream 4' Car Rentals In Today's Twitter-Wood

U.S. President Barack Obama turned some heads in Los Angeles yesterday by paying a visit to a fundraiser and impacting traffic in the city. Tweets on the matter trended fiercely, and Patton Oswalt, Richard Kelly, Jon Hurwitz and David Spade all felt the effects of the Potus appearance.

Plenty of work posts showed up in Twitter-Wood as well. William Shatner, for instance, sounds like he's having a good time on the "$#*! My Dad Says" set. 'Scream 4' Mischief, K-Rod's Dodged Suspension And 'The Expendables' In Today's Twitter-Wood

Wes Craven must be a fan of method acting, judging from the way he's been treating Hayden Panettiere and Emma Roberts on the "Scream 4" set. He documented his endeavors in a tweet yesterday, but we'll have to wait until the film comes out to see if he helped them get into their parts.

Elsewhere, New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez was arrested on Wednesday night. No matter what happens, though, at least one Hollywood writer is sticking up for him. A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas Script Review

10 July 2010 11:14 AM, PDT | newsinfilm.com | See recent newsinfilm news »

Someone has turned the clocks back to the ’80s.  Sequels, 3D, and Cheech and Chong-style stoner movies are running rampant in Hollywood again.  Sometimes they make sense and money at the box office, but I can’t wrap my head around A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas, a 3D stoner sequel.

This installment starts with Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) on the outs, which stems from Harold’s plans to grow up and Kumar’s desire to stay the latent-adolescent whose life revolves primarily around getting high.  The two are reunited in their quest to find the perfect Christmas tree after the one Harold’s father-in-law brought to town is destroyed in a pot-related fire.  It’s at the start of this journey that we meet Todd (to be played by Thomas Lennon of “Viva Variety,” “Reno 911″ and “The State”) and Adrian (presumably Patton Oswalt) — replacement friends for Harold »
