Gotham Extended Trailer Introduces an Adorable Future Villain

12 hours ago | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

How cute. A new Gotham extended trailer from across the pond -- that's the United Kingdom, for those wondering -- introduces an adorable pint-sized girl that will one day become a real and literal thorn in Batman's side. For now she's simply a little girl who answers the door by the name of Ivy.

Gotham star Ben McKenzie, portraying a young police detective James Gordon in the new Fox series, introduces the footage as a promotional piece designed for Channel 5 in the UK. A good chunk of the footage in the extended trailer has already been seen stateside in other trailers and spots. There's new stuff, too, including the Ivy reveal.

We get to see much more of Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and discover that some of his fellow thugs are already calling him the Penguin, a moniker Mr. Cobblepot would rather not spoken. Selina Kyla (Camren Bicondova) is »

Gotham is the origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome), this one-hour drama follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the genesis of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. Brave, earnest and eager to prove himself, the newly minted detective Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police »

Extended UK Preview Released For ‘Gotham’

21 August 2014 3:30 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Alongside the news that, surprisingly, Channel 5 will be showing the upcoming Gotham, we’ve got a brand new preview released to add to the already hyper-marketing for this anticipated series. Straight from Fox, another the Batman and DC villains origin story wasn’t something we knew we needed but early signs weren’t that bad, although I’m personally concerned over the style and vibe, plus the thought that it may become a little too soap-like.

Bruno Heller is the man behind the re-invention, and you’ll know him for The Mentalist and Rome, so there’s a good sign on the latter in terms of visuals and in the first with a touch of cleverness. Gotham follows James Gordon and his rise in the corrupt city that’s on the edge of turning evil forever, plus it will chronicle the birth of many of those well-known DC names and »

Do you have room on your DVR for another TV drama? Better make sure, because "Gotham" is looking more and more like must-see TV.

This UK teaser for "Gotham," which assures concerned Brits that they too will be able to see just how James Gordon got his start, gives us a good look at the characters populating this mythical city, from a young Bruce Wayne and baby Ivy to Catwoman and the Penguin. Part of the fun of "Gotham" will be seeing these heroes and villains in their nascent forms, as well as sussing out who's who. For instance, that young blonde lurking in the shadows? That's Sara Paxton, and rumor has it her character is Bette Kane. Bat-Girl was originally known as Betty Kane, but eventually she came to be known as Bette. Is Gotham getting a dose of Bat-Girl power? We hope so!
