It's all fun and games until someone gets stabbed with a tire iron. This was the lesson learned by the girls of "Sorority Row" . the terrifying horror film now arriving on Blu-ray and DVD February 23, 2010 from Summit Home Entertainment. Like most lessons learned, this one doesn't come with ease, but proves to have no shortage of thrills, sass and sex appeal. The line-up of beautiful sorority sisters in peril includes Briana Evigan ("Step Up 2: The Streets") Leah Pipes (TV's "Life Is Wild"), Rumer Willis ("The House Bunny"), Jamie Chung ("Dragonball"), Margo Harshman ("Even Stevens"), Audrina Patridge (MTV's "The Hills") and Caroline D'Amore ("Entourage") as the sisters of Theta Pi, easily the hottest sorority on campus at Rosman University. Carrie Fisher ("E-girl") also stars as »

31 January 2010 11:59 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

So how are you guys liking The Deep End?  I'm kind of digging it, despite how grossly unrealistic it is about putting a first year law student as second-chair in some big class action suit (which happened in the last episode).  Regardless of that, I'm just kind of happy to be seeing Billy Zane again.  ABC has released a few promo photos for the February 4 episode, along with a synopsis, which you can view below.

The Deep End: Mixed Review Debut; Cancel or Keep It?

22 January 2010 4:28 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

ABC unveiled their new legal drama, The Deep End, last night. The promos say that it's like a cross between Grey's Anatomy and L.A. Law. Can it get the same kind of big ratings?

The Deep End follows the lives of five eager and young first-year associates in a top Los Angeles law firm. It features the talents of Matt Long, Ben Lawson, Tina Majorino, Norbert Leo Butz, Leah Pipes, Billy Zane, Sherri Saum, Clancy Brown, Mehcad Brooks, and Rachelle Lefevre.

Interestingly, this is ABC's second attempt at doing this show. There was another pilot that was shot in 2008 with some different actors in some of the roles. Zane replaced Roger Bart, Pipes filled Morena Baccarin's role, and Saum replaced Gail O'Grady. Based on the mixed (at best) reviews the current version has received, the network might have been better off sticking with »

TV Review: ABC’s ‘The Deep End’ is Shockingly Shallow

21 January 2010 11:13 AM, PST | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – “The Deep End” is yet another legal show about young stars in their field trying to do what’s right within the system and keep their heads above water at a high-powered firm. To say we’ve seen the set-up of ABC’s “The Deep End” a dozen times before would be a massive understatement. The question is what the writers and cast do within the tried-and-true structure. The answer is nothing at all.

Television Rating: 1.5/5.0

From scene one, as the stars (referred to at one point as the four musketeers) are introduced via the interviews they gave straight to the camera to get a job as a first-year associate as techno music bounces on the score, “The Deep End” is trying Way too hard. It practically screams “Aren’t we hip? Aren’t we clever? Aren’t we sexy?” Nope, far too rarely, and I guess but so »

'The Deep End' review: Just treading water

20 January 2010 8:37 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The young lawyers of "The Deep End" are bright, ambitious, attractive, neurotic, scared, prone to sleeping with co-workers and in awe of/deeply afraid of their bosses.

In other words, they're almost exactly like the doctors of "Grey's Anatomy" circa season one, but with suits instead of scrubs. And that's the chief issue with "The Deep End," which premieres at 8 p.m. Et Thursday (Jan. 21), just before "Grey's": Despite being populated with likable actors giving mostly solid performances, it's hard to escape the feeling that you've seen this before.

I'm hopeful that will change in the future, that the show will find a more specific voice and set itself apart. Creator David Hemingson is an ex-lawyer, and he's said a good portion of the show is based on his own experience. But the premiere is all ABC gave us to go on, and that specificity isn't there yet.
