The 2011 British television film drama Appropriate Adult is based on the true story of Gloucester serial killer Fred West who, along with his wife Rosemary, tortured, raped and murdered at least 11 young women and girls over the course of eight years in the 1970s. The film focuses on the Wests’ arrests in 1994 and Fred’s chillingly “friendly” relationship with housewife Janet Leach, a Gloucester housewife who volunteered to be his “appropriate adult”—a person “assists” adults facing criminal charges and sits in during the investigation and suspect interrogation.

John Simm, Maxine Peake to lead BBC drama 'The Village'

John Simm and Maxine Peake are to star in new BBC One drama The Village. The series - penned by Peter Moffat (Silk) - follows the residents of one English village across the 20th century and their turbulent lives.

New Cbbc drama The Knot starts filming

Filming is currently underway in the Isle of Man on new Cbbc drama The Knot, for which a casting call was placed on Screenterrier back in April.

Two young newcomers, Joseph Galluci playing 11 year old Rocket and Helen Smith playing 14 year old Alli, join Debra Stephenson, Mark Moraghan and Kelle Bryan in the 3-part series being produced by Lime Pictures.

Set in the heart of the Isle of Man and surrounded by the Irish sea, The Knot is a special place, where raw and rugged nature plays host to a stream of kids with complex lives, all fostered by Peter (Anthony Flanagan) and Sarah Boulsworth (Debra Stephenson) and their kids, Rocket and Alli.
