Japanese actor and martial artist Hiroyuki Sanada will be joining the cast of HBO’s Westworld in a major recurring role for season 2, TV Guide reports. In addition to the fact that Sanada will be playing a new character named Musashi for multiple episodes, the outlet also did a little bit of digging and discovered that the character could give the audience a closer look at Samurai World (park name unconfirmed), a sister park to Westworld hinted at in the season 1 finale.

For this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Funko unveiled a wave of exclusive HBO-related Pop! vinyl figures, including one for a character of the name Musashi; he hadn’t been introduced on the show before and sports a samurai-appropriate sword, helmet and armor. Westworld clearly isn’t Delos Incorporated’s only venture, and the toy would suggest that at least one of those other ventures will get some

Westworld Cast, EPs Take Us Inside Park's Top-Secret Souvenir Shop
Much like Westworld‘s titular amusement park itself, the HBO drama’s presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con was vast and all-encompassing. So much so, we had to split the sci-fi series’ massive cast in two just to be able to fit them in our interview suite.

‘Westworld’ Reveals Season 2 Trailer But Mainly Goes For Laughs In Packed Hall H – Comic-Con

Having added Kingdom's Jonathan Tucker and Absentia's Neil Jackson for Season 2 yesterday and snagged a place earlier this month as the drama with the most Emmy nominations, Westworld rolled into Comic-Con with a lot of intensity – almost none of which was directly flexed in Hall H with what was a rollicking panel and a surprise look at a clearly very violent Season 2. At the very end of the panel, there was a brief but very bloody look at the upcoming season of the HBO…

Jonathan Tucker And Neil Jackson Join Westworld Season 2

Even by HBO’s lofty standards, Westworld was a huge success. Within a couple of episodes, audiences were hooked, with fan theories dotting up all over the internet and that fabled water cooler discussion going on all around the country. That success paid off in the form of sky-high ratings and an impressive 22 nominations at the Emmy awards.

Naturally, season 2 was a no-brainer from the word go, but it’s only now that we’re learning precisely what it’ll entail. We already know that the next season won’t continue the tangled timeline plotting that made the first outing such a pleasure to unravel and that rather than explore the immediate ramifications of the robot revolution that capped season 1, we’ll get to see the reactions of park guests to the carnage.

We also now know, as reported by Deadline, that season 2 will boast the talents of Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom,
