Bob Schieffer was born on February 25, 1937 in Austin, Texas, USA as Bob Lloyd Scheiffer. He is an actor, known for Morning Glory (2010), Face the Nation (1954) and Madam Secretary (2014). He has been married to Patricia Neville Penrose Bishop since April 15, 1967. They have two children.

Was anchor of the CBS Evening News Sunday Edition from 1973 to 1976 and anchor of the CBS Evening News Saturday Edition from 1976 to 1996.
Became the temporary anchor of the CBS Evening News after Dan Rather stepped down. Though he expressed no interest in becoming the permanent anchor - Katie Couric was chosen in April, 2006, to fill the post permanently - viewer response was extraordinary.
