It also marks the return of "Austin Powers" and "Meet the Parents" helmer Jay Roach who has produced several films in recent years but hasn't directed since 2004's "Meet the Fockers".

Sly Talks Expendables Scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis

1 November 2009 5:50 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Entertainment Weekly talked with Sylvester Stallone about the pivotal, 5-minute scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis for Stallone's The Expendables which we first reported here. Sly talked candidly about the six hour shoot:

Stallone said the superstar-summit scene takes place in a church, where Willis' nasty antagonist has summoned Stallone's macho mercenary to finally meet him face-to-face, take measure of him, and possibly hire him for a death-defying mission. But just as the meeting gets under way and smartass smalltalk is made, in walks another killer-for-hire - Stallone's longtime rival, who Willis has also invited to this job interview: Ah-nuld.

"Bruce says 'Well, there's one other person I want to talk to before I hire you," says Stallone. "And then Arnold, who plays my old rival, walks in. We have a history together. And we go back and forth and I tell him that I should have shot him »

The Expendables: Willis & Schwarzenegger Character Info

1 November 2009 3:37 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

The first trailer for The Expendables made its way online the other week although it was unofficial, unfinished and quickly removed everywhere at the request of Lionsgate.

The movie brings together a plethora of action stars, most notably, those who kicked ass during the 80s. It was shaping up to be a perfect reunion of the stars we loved from back in the day. When we got to see the unofficial trailer, the quality of what we saw sure made it feel like an 80s action flick, which to me was good and bad.

From the footage, we never got to see two big names who we know are involved with the movie: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. Thanks to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive chat with Stallone, we now have some details on what Willis and the Governator will be playing.

Sylvester Stallone Discusses the "$15 Billion" Scene in The Expendables

1 November 2009 10:44 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Action movie juggernauts Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis shared the limelight throughout the '80s and '90s, starring in one eye-popping spectacle after another. The three actors even shared ownership of the once-popular Planet Hollywood chain of movie memorabilia-themed restaurants. But one thing they never shared before is screen time. That's going to change once The Expendables explodes into theaters next summer.

Just last week, the publicist for The Expendables blogged about being on set for the filming of a pivotal scene featuring the three superstars in an empty church. In a recent phone interview with EW, Stallone gave a brief description of that historic scene, which he described as "amazing."

Bruce says "Well, there's one other person I want to talk to before I hire you," and then Arnold, who plays my old rival, walks in. We have a history together. And we go back and »

The first official look at The Expendables has hit the net. Running at over three minutes, the preview shows a plethora of action and a handful of comedy mixed in with the gore and violence. The upcoming 2010 action film, written and directed by Sylvester Stallone pays tribute to the blockbuster action films during the 1980s and early '90s. The plot follows a team of the world's most dangerous and highly-trained mercenaries who go on a mission to South America to overthrow and assassinate a powerful, evil dictator and his army, who have been causing devastation, chaos and torture for the last twenty years. Producer Avi Lerner has reported that the film will be cut down to two versions, a PG-13-rating edit and an R-rated version, both of which will be screen tested to see which one will be officially released. However what's really attracting attention is its all star cast listed below. »

Ethel Mae's Blog has posted a description of a scene from Stallone's The Expendables which features Stallone, Bruce Willis and current California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was said the scene was pivotal to the set-up of the film, and here's a description of the characters Willis and Schwarzenneger play.

Arnold's character is Trench and Bruce is Church, the scene was shot in an empty church without extras and minimal set dec and it has tension and humor...Bruce and Arnold were consummate professionals at all times - we got through the scene quickly without compromise. The Expendables Update - Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger Filmed Together Earlier Today

24 October 2009 4:33 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Earlier today, while most of us were trying to enjoy our Saturday, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger filmed a scene together for “The Expendables”. If you’re a fan of action movies, this is like Christmas morning. While the scene in question is just a small part of the movie…who cares! These three action stars have never worked together and even if it’s just for a moment in the movie, this is another reason why “The Expendables” is going to be awesome. More after the jump.

According to ethelmae.com:

We shoot the scene with Sly Arnold & Bruce on Saturday. I still don’t have the location (not that I would share it anyway) but logic dictates it will be in a church in La.

And the news that they were all filming together comes from twitter.com/marialascala:

The Expendables Promo Trailer

14 October 2009 11:08 AM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Just yesterday, a promo trailer of sorts appeared online for Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming macho man action fest, The Expendables. We would have gotten it to you sooner, but as you’ll soon see, it’s not very well put together (editing wise, not the actual footage that Stallone shot) and doesn’t paint the movie in the best light. It’s clearly not a final trailer, but rather a slapped-together bunch of footage designed to give us action movie fans a taste of what’s to come.

So, due to that, we hesitated putting it on the site. But in the end we figured you might want to see it so we have it for you below.

Just keep in mind the footage is Very rough, not edited together as an actual trailer and the music is weak, to say the least.

A trailer for The Expendables briefly appeared online. In it, Sylvester Stallone teams up with a set of action movie all-stars, including Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Steve Austin, ,Terry Crews, and Randy Couture, as they head out to overthrow a South American dictator. It should be no surprise that Stallone is also directing the movie himself, from his own script.

Sadly, the cameos from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis didn't make it into the trailer.

Trailer for Stallone’s ‘The Expendables’ Goes Online

14 October 2009 7:00 AM, PDT | The Flickcast | See recent The Flickcast news »

We here at The Flickcast have all been pretty excited at the prospect of Sylvester Stallone writing, directing and starring in basically the quintessential action film with the quintessential “who’s who” of action stars. There was a trailer leak for the film about a month ago, which was almost instantly taken down by the studio. But it looks like the first full trailer is here and here to stay.

The film is about a group of black ops agents who go up against an evil Eric Roberts and a third world country dictator. The premise isn’t really important, considering that the film brings together the Largest Group Of Action Stars Ever.

Starting at the top, the film features Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Randy Couture, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Danny Trejo, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. This cast is »

The Expendables Promo Footage

14 October 2009 4:04 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

ComingSoon.net have managed to ‘acquire’ some promotional footage from Sylvester Stallone’s new movie, The Expendables which is out summer 2010. The movie is both written and directed by Stallone as well as him playing the lead. It also stars Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren, Charisma Carpenter, Giselle Itie, Brittany Murphy, David Zayas and Amin Joseph.

The film follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator. Which I think basically gives them an excuse to blow up as much as they possibly can! Awesome!

I’m not sure how official this footage is so it may well get taken down but enjoy it while it lasts!

First Footage From The Expendables

14 October 2009 4:03 AM, PDT | Screenrush | See recent Screenrush news »

Those nice people over at Coming Soon have posted some rather exciting footage from Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables, which you can see below...

While it's not quite an official trailer, this three-minute promo gives us exactly what we expected from the star-studded action flick (namely guns, explosions, quips, more guns...) and it has us totally excited about seeing it when it finally hits cinemas in August 2010.

The film, which follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator, seems to hark back to Sly's heyday of 80s action flicks with all manner of down and dirty ass-kickery and clever-clever kiss-off lines.

Put quite simply, this film can do no wrong.

Are you excited about seeing Sly Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Mickey Rourke, Steve Austin and Terry Crews teaming up for the ultimate action movie? Leave your comments after the clip. »
