Here's a new casting update for The Expendables 3: Resident Evil's Milla Jovovich is in negotiations to join the explosive sequel as one of the ultimate badasses. I guess if any woman were to join in on the action in this testosterone filled franchise, it would be Jovovich. She's earned it.
Deadline is also reporting that the studio is also in "advanced negotiations" with Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, and Nicolas Cage. There's are all names that have previously been mentioned, but it now looks like they will actually end up being in the movie.
The movie will be directed by Patrick Hughes (Red Hill), and it's scheduled to start production in August. The cast of the previous film also included Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Nan Yu, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Rey Mysterio has had an amazing career, but a string of health problems from his high flying style combined with his age have made us all come to terms with the fact that the masked luchador will probably be wrapping up his career soon. So how should Mysterio ride off into the sunset(flip)? What fitting way can you say goodbye to a sure-fire hall of famer, who has had amazing matches with people of all styles, shapes, and sizes over the last couple of decades?
Well, that’s why I’m here to present 3 ways to say goodbye to Mysterio. Let me preface by saying, since this is my post, that these will be 3 awesome ideas which I think are awesome, and in no way are meant to be realistic ideas the WWE will choose. These are more pipe dreams than anything, and I am ok with that. Without further adieu, »

Sylvester Stallone took to his Twitter account recently and offered a bunch of updates on The Expendables 3. He confirms some casting and reveals where they are looking for inspiration. I think you're going to like what he has to say.
Here are the tweets he sent out:
Scouting eastern Europe and Asia ...we are going all out on this one ... Could be a big surprise!!
What's the plan? Ask Jackie Chan....
Thinking about Raiding, The Raid....think about it...
We believe we can do better than the Raid, which was an excellent film... Raising the bar...
Mighty Mickey is back............
Talked to Wesley today ... He can not Wait to fight to the top again !!!!!!! Over...
So he's confirmed Jackie Chan, Mickey Rourke, and Wesley Snipes will be in the movie. The most interesting part of this to me though is that he thinks they can do a better action film than The Raid. »

Most of us understand that as we age, it's important to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Go for a jog (or a "yog" if you're Ron Burgundy) once in a while. Maybe opt for a salad sometimes instead of a few slices of pizza. If you work at a desk, perhaps you make sure you walk around your office for five minutes every hour. Feel that burn.
Then there are others who take that notion to extreme lengths, who hear "maintain a healthy and active lifestyle" and think "lift enough weights every day of my life to tear a horse in half with my bare hands and have a laughing fit in its blood."
That last part may have been an exaggeration (though for some reason I can especially see Vin Diesel laughing maniacally in horse blood), but the following nine Hollywood actors would probably tell you that, yes, »

Well if anyone’s going to know who’s on tap to direct “The Expendables 3″, I guess Sylvester Stallone would know, wouldn’t he? He’s only the star, creator, and producer on the franchise, after all, and figures to be all three again for the third movie. From the Twitter feed of Sly himself, “Red Hill” director Patrick Hughes has been named the new director on “The Expendables 3″, taking over from Simon West, who directed the second movie, and Sly himself, who did the honors behind the camera on the first flick. Hopefully the Aussie director will follow more in West’s footsteps, given that Sly’s directing on the first movie was borderline incomprehensible. At least, for those of us who likes following the flow of action and other silly stuff like that. In “The Expendables 3″, currently set for 2014, Sly, Jason Statham, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, »

He may not have landed The Rock, and he still might be trying to get Jackie Chan on board, but Sylvester Stallone has announced the man who will attempt to wrangle the Expendables for their third time on screen: Red Hill director Patrick Hughes. The Australian director, who got his start making shorts before segueing into the successful 2010 Western thriller, is Stallone’s choice to carry the mantle first shouldered by Rocky himself and then Simon West for last year’s sequel. As for what the film will actually be about? Sly isn’t saying yet, though assuming they’re all available, it’ll round up regular cohorts such as Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and possibly Chuck Norris. And you can bet Sly’s been working the phones to lock in some other names besides trying to lure Chan.According to the man himself, »

Sylvester Stallone has revealed that they've hired Patrick Hughes to direct The Expendables 3. I'm not familiar with the director at all, but he made a couple of shorts and a movie called Red Hill that I've never seen. Stallone posted the following,
EX3 Needs freshness, class, and much badass, ....Found it... Blood Sweat and Fears, coming soon... My best Pure Action Film - The last Rambo - I want this one too top it and I believe it will with New Blood.
I guess he feels that Hughes in the man to turn his dreams for The Expendables 3 into a reality. There was a point where Stallone asked what everyone thought about Mel Gibson possibly directing the film, but it looks like that didn't take.
In addition to Stallone, the last film starred Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Nan Yu, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, »

The blokes who flex their muscles in Ultimate Fighting Championship and mixed martial arts events are mostly a larger-than-life blend of showmanship and brawn – which explains why they’re increasingly being snapped up by Hollywood. With more and more Mma fighters moving into the movies, I thought I’d take a look at some of the biggest names to have made the crossover.
Winner of numerous Mma trophies around the globe, Schiena flexed his acting chops in Locked Down as a framed cop who winds up in jail and is forced into cage fighting by none other than Brit hardman turned thesp Vinnie Jones. Schiena retired from sport after breaking both his ankles (ouch!) but has since found his feet on the big screen working with everyone from Pacino to Van Damme.

Given the news that American professional wrestling legend Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle For Redemption) has been cast as Drax in the forthcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy, I thought I’d take a look at the ten best films to feature fighters turned actors. Check them out below:
Enter The Dragon (1973)
No list of fighters turned actor would be complete without Bruce Lee. Widely considered to be the best Martial Arts expert ever, he even invented his own Martial Arts philosophy – Jeet Kune Do. Before dying at the age of 32 Lee starred in a string of Kung Fu movies the best known of which is Enter The Dragon. What it lacks in plot and dialogue it more than makes up for in sheer power and energy.
The Mummy Returns (2001)
Dwayne Johnson found fame in the ring as ‘The Rock’ and proved to be a firm fan favourite. »

Tom Jolliffe looks at the possibilities for The Expendables 3....
The dust had barely settled from the first time eyes were laid upon a print of The Expendables 2 before rumours of the third film started flying around. Long before the final box office takings had been registered it seemed that the third was more or less a done deal. Of course the second one, like the first, was a huge hit. Now the first film had plenty of flaws. The second had just as many, though a more consistent tone, and bigger scope. So with yet more rumours about what’s to come, who’s in, who’s out in the third and possibly final (though I doubt it) Expendables outing this week, I take a look at what we have heard thus far, and perhaps what fans will hope for.
The key thing for the next film isn »

There are plenty of illusions in sports that fans allow to assume reality. We’re all guilty of, at one time or another, telling ourselves that this year is the year for our team. I know I’ve convinced myself on numerous occasions that my team’s latest acquisition would not be a bust even though he is known as an underachiever. And who hasn’t truly believed that their guy could defeat the heavy favorite? That’s what being a sports fan is all about. There is one misconception, however, that we all happily accept as truth because, without it, sports would mean nothing. We can’t be faulted for accepting the blatant deception as athletes themselves fall victim to it from time to time. The professional sports that we live and breathe are not sports at all. They are all businesses that make business-driven decisions to attract the casual fan. »
