Fox has moved the release date of their female comedy "Monte Carlo" from February 11 to July 1, 2011.According to Variety, the film will now open against Paramount's "Transformers 3" and Universal's Tom Hanks film "Larry Crowne."Tom Bezucha directed "Monte Carlo," with a cast that includes Katie Cassidy, Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester, Brett Cullen, Luke Bracey, Pierre Boulanger and Andie McDowell. Gomez, Cassidy and Meester star as three American girls who take a trip to Paris, only to end up in Monaco through a case of mistaken identity.The film was shot in Monaco, Budapest and Paris. Director Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In) has reportedly signed on with Warner Bros. Pictures to direct the big-screen adaptation of Philip Reeve‘s 2006 novel set in Victorian-era alternate universe entitled, Larklight.

Taylor Schilling has been set to play Zac Efron's love interest in the upcoming "The Lucky One". Variety reported that the former "Mercy" star has nabbed the female lead role in the upcoming Nicholas Sparks novel-adaptation movie, beating out Abbie Cornish and Katie Cassidy for the coveted part.
To be helmed by Australian director Scott Hicks, this drama flick revolves around the life of Zac's character, Logan Thibault. Surviving three tours in Iraq, the Marine attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried of a woman he has never met. When he returns to North Carolina, he sets out to meet his good-luck charm.
The film itself will be produced by Denise Di Novi and Kevin McCormick. Denise's pictures Alison Greenspan is executive producing. Douglas McGrath and Will Fetters, in the meantime, will be adapting the novel into the big screen. No release date has been set just yet. »

Although plenty of those children grew up to be adults who wanted to make these books into movies, author Beverly Cleary wouldn't give up the rights -- until now.
