Sporting Legend Shaquille O’Neal Lobbies For Avengers Role Opposite Robert Downey Jr.

Forget Thanos and the so-called Black Order; if the stars align, Iron Man’s next enemy will come in the form of Shaquille O’Neal, basketball Hall of Famer and all-around NBA legend.

Chatting to Entertainment Weekly, the sporting icon revealed his desire to star in an Avengers film, where he’d very much like to “kick Robert Downey Jr.’s ass.” His words, not ours.

Of course, long before Marvel launched its cinematic universe and Warner Bros. began composing the DC Extended Universe, Shaq starred in Steel, a 1997 superhero flick that ultimately bombed with critics. It still drew praise for its big-screen portrayal of a black superhero, though Mr. O’Neal clearly still has a taste for costumed crusaders. And Rdj, in particular.

“I would love to be in one of the Avengers movies. I would like to kick Robert Downey Jr.’s ass,” he said.

New Avengers: Infinity War Synopsis Teases McU’s Deadliest Movie

Even though we finally received the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War a couple months back, it stands to reason that each and every one of us are dying to see more teasers before the big team-up flick storms cinemas. Of course, we’re likely to see another full trailer or two before opening weekend arrives, but the interim is starting to heat up, with a Marvel Cinematic Universe recap video and international trailer already surfacing in this still young week.

But even with all that to digest, we still can’t help but wonder what’s in store for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes other than punching Thanos in the face. Well, one would assume they’re going to, but the Mad Titan is a pretty tough guy, so they may not lay too much smack down on him until the second part of the sprawling epic.

Breaking In,” a home-invasion drama starring Gabrielle Union, generated 97,000 new conversations in the wake of the release of a trailer on Jan. 11, shortly after announcing a May 11 release date for the film. “V for Vendetta” director James McTeigue helms from a script by Ryan Engle, based on a pitch from Jaime Primak Sullivan about a woman fighting to protect her family during a home invasion.

Fifty Shades Freed” drew 92,000 new conversations last week. A new trailer released on Jan. 2 revealed in the final five seconds that Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele is pregnant. The pregnancy announcement isn’t news to those who read the final installment of E.L. James’ erotic trilogy, published in 2012, but it had not been hinted at in the two previous films, “[link

New ‘Avengers 4’ Set Photo Raises Many Questions

Warning: Potential Spoilers Below!!!

A new set photo from ‘Avengers 4‘ has surfaced, and to be quite honest, it raises more questions than it answers. Since ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ and the as of yet untitled ‘Avengers 4‘ were announced as two separate films, it’s been many people’s assumption that Chris Evans‘ Captain America would be one of the sure-fire candidates to bite the dust under the wrath of Josh Brolin‘s Thanos. But the new image, which features Cap’s costume from the first ‘Avengers‘ film upon closer inspection, seems to imply a set of wide-ranging possibilities for the plot of ‘Avengers 4‘, including the potential for time travel.

There’s not really much that we know so far about ‘Avengers 4‘, other than the fact that it will serve as a “soft reboot” of the McU into Phase 4. We do know that Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury will not be

It helmer teaming with the Russos to adapt The Electric State

According to Deadline, Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo have won a bidding war for the rights to Simon Stalenhag’s illustrated novel The Electric State, with It helmer Andy Muschietti in talks to direct.

The Kickstarter-funded book is described as “a re-imagined low tech apocalyptic mid 90s vision of the American West.” The description reads:

In late 1997, a runaway teenager and her yellow toy robot travel west through a strange USA, where the ruins of gigantic battle drones litter the countryside heaped together with the discarded trash of a high tech consumerist society in decline. As their car approaches the edge of the continent, the world outside the window seems to be unraveling ever faster as if somewhere beyond the horizon, the hollow core of civilization has finally caved in.

Stalenhag will serve as executive producer, while the script will be written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely,

First ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Trailer Signals the End of an Era

The first trailer for ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ has arrived, and it is absolutely glorious. The Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it began in 2008 with ‘Iron Man‘, and will go through a massive change when ‘Infinity War‘ hits theaters nearly 10 years later. After 18 movies of build-up that includes a trio of trilogies (Captain America, Iron Man and Thor), and two and a half ‘Avengers‘ movies, we finally get to see how all of this work will finally come together.

In a recent Vanity Fair piece with Kevin Feige, the Marvel mastermind detailed how ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ would change the landscape of the McU as we know it, serving as a “Finale” of sorts. It’s pretty common knowledge that many of the actors from the Phase 1 films are nearing the end of their contracts, so it seems natural that ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ and the as-of-yet untitled ‘Avengers 4‘ will serve as
